GMX (www.gmx.de) now offer a FREE unlimited time DSL access service including 1000Mb up/download data per month. Additional usage costs 1.2cent per Mb per month. There's no real reason why you can't combine this with another (none-GMX) limited service to extend the data you can download each month at no additional cost (You would just need to modify your access details on your PC/Router when you want to switch). You can use this rate with any of the 1000, 2000 or 3000 Mbs DSL deals from Telekom. You do, of course need to pay the €16.99 (for 1024/128) to Telekom for DSL provision on top of your normal phone line (analogue/ISDN) rental cost

For people new to DSL they will even give you a FREE modem or modem card and offer a WLAN router for €250 when they sign you up via Telekom for DSL

This may start a price war among providers. Tiscali announced their 2000Mbs flatrate service for €37.90/month yesterday. This is now the cheapest 2000Mbs flatrate service. They have technical problems with the 3000Mbs service, but that will come later this year.
