unterföhring is tipping it too...visibility 'bout 10m...
Owain Glyndwr
it's almost a white-out here near FF-ring. Also thunder & lightening.
Kings Town
It did get suddenly very bloody dark here in the East side.

I'll look forward to that taking me by surprise!
Kay
So it really was thunder! ohmy.gif I thought it was sonic boom time again.

Edit: Make that 'is thunder', not 'was'...
Owain Glyndwr
i don't think any planes that can cause a sonic boom will be flying in this weather. There are some things even the best technology can't cope with.
Inflatablewoman
OMGZ DA SNOW!, THOR BE MERCIFULLLLZZZ!!!ONE!!!

It's a white out!!! TO THE HILLS!!! WE are to be PANISHED!!§"QWE!
DDBug
Fck - it's like being back in wyoming, wind and all.

Since the Great Hamilton Transit Strike of 1998 I have ridden rain or shine, snow, ice storm, hail, thunderstorm and tornado

Holy Snowstorm Batman! Snow, wind, and thunder... of course, only during the time when I was walking home. tongue.gif

Still worse in Canada though...
byrdbrain
White out in Lehel and horizontal snow in Milbertshofen
Marshbot
About bloody time. There's been far too much slush and grey in Munich the last couple of months - bring on the white!
Chicago
visibility out here (Fasanenpark) is about 10 meters at the moment. please drive safely. and expect delays on the S-Bahns.
Crawlie
It has almost stopped so don't start looking out for wooly mammoths just yet
Bubble Gum
I LOVE IT!!! I feel like I am in a giant snow globe. I just wish the snow would stay on the ground and NOT turn to ugly muddy puddles.
bluedave
Total whiteout in Ottobrunn now, is Haidhausen still there to get home to ? unsure.gif
Inflatablewoman
To much snow to tell!!!
Carm
Oh, Yeah, Baby bring it on! wink.gif
Just waiting now for the -30 weather without the windchill! laugh.gif
Daisy
you should have travelled to Moscow a couple weeks ago! biggrin.gif
sk8rgrl
@Carm
You must be one of those peeps who roams around in shorts in the middle of winter like my old neighbour from Alberta tongue.gif
Carm
Been to Moskow in the winter- is much colder in Winterpeg! wink.gif
Daisy
note to self:
never travel to winipeg. At least in winter.
Carm
Daisy, the summers will kill you- +30-35 for about 6 weeks with no rain, sun setting at 10 pm, and raising at 5 (hard if sleeping in a tent).

or one of those people that always has to mention how much hotter/colder it is back home - 'you think this is hot/cold, this is nothing, you should try living in...'

wink.gif
Keydeck
Look at the forecast for next Tuesday. A veritible heatwave!

sweet. I love me some long lazy hot days!
Tent? people still sleep in tents when they are such luxurious beds around?
Nobody on MTV cribs sleeps in a tent. laugh.gif

You bet! The steed is in the basement drying off from the morning commute, and in a couple of hours I'll be tearing it up on the way home. The snow, that is, not the pavement. My studs do no damage.
Elfenstar
yeah, that passed this way a couple hours ago (Walldorf/Heidelberg). it looked really weird outside, then a furious snow storm, now i's rather sunny with some puffy clouds, but i can tell it is still quite windy.
Andy101
Just today...i could see wild rabbits running about near my garden. I have not been seeing them for months now and suddenly just appeared.indication for nice warm weather coming soon?

I witnessed the whole mini storm through my window gosh it is scary sad.gif
MajorBummer
Like Thunder
and Lightning
God damn
it's so exciting.
iain
thunder and lighting very very frightning! well damb it i am going to go out and see what all this fuss is about. i hear if you open the door you get to see it first hand blink.gif
Marshbot
I saw bunnies for the first time in ages last week too. But do they really go somewhere (holiday?) during winter or is it just that I don't see them as much? Do their coats change colour so maybe they are actually still all around me (pulling gang signs n'stuff) but invisible to my eyes?
Just curious.

I think they hibernate don't they? This guy lives outside my office window, and although I saw him a couple of times last winter he hasn't been around this year yet:

Saw a black squirrel this morning, the sort with the tufty ears. Looked a bit confused.

BEWARE... S-Bahn's are running 20min-1hr late depending on the line.
Check MVV/DB's website or the radio for current announcements before you leave home..

Roads "Out in the Stix" are also very bad, but should hopefully be cleaned-up soon.
DDBug
Smaller roads in the center (Schwabing) are not particularly well groomed yet either. Now that the icy roads I slipped on last night on Frankfurter Ring are covered witha fine layer of snow, I wish all you commuters good luck.
I'm sitting in the home office today smile.gif
bluedave
OK had enough of the white shite now, we've seen it, now send it back to the mountains so those that like to ski and shit can enjoy it please dry.gif

I prefer to keep those two activities separate. biggrin.gif
Daisy
well it was a picnic driving to work today. Coudn't see where the road was half the time.
If it were up to me I would be done right about yesterday with living in the country. dry.gif

My gripe is this trickling of snow. Either snow and dump something I can actually shovel or don't snow at all...like the way it happens in Utah - it's beautiful - snows all night and when you wake up in the morning for skiing, it's sunny and beautiful.

DDBug
kitkat - either you forgot about the inversions and the lack of sun for days in Utah or you were staying on the mountain wink.gif
Was thinking again on the walk home from dropping off the kiddos how much Munich is like SLC - now the snow.
Small Town Boy
Yeah, Salt Lake City is just *beautiful* when it's suffocating under a blanket of smog...

And it only sometimes snows during the night - there's no meterological condition which means it only snows at night. It's just as likely to be snowing during the day.

regarding bunnies

QUOTE

apparently not. I was bored/interested enough to check this up and the website stated that rabbits do not hibernate and if your rabbit gets all sleepy in the winter it is sick and not hiberbating. ohmy.gif However they do have nice deep burrows which they cuddle up in (and as an extra bonus fact for you as its Friday, hares tend just to have little scraped depressions in the ground rather than burrows)

So now you know
kitkat64
OK, OK, I'll admit it. I was there for 5 days in Park City, Utah and every night it snowed and everyday was sunny and beautiful.

SLC - no idea - was there for 2 hours - both spent at the airport.
DDBug
I miss that bit sad.gif , Wyoming is like that, too.
don_riina
I've seen no shortage of rabbits and hares this winter. If anything, its easier to see them in snowy weather than it is in summer if you ask me. They're hard to see at night in summer, but stick out when its a white snowy field.
See alot of shit too. It seems that rabbits all congragate in the same spot to have a shit. It's well noticeable in the snow, hundreds of rabbit shits all in the same place. No chance its just one rabbit, loads of tracks, and far too much shit.
Uncle Jamal
Fascinating, the rabbit world. I have an image in my head of what I imagine a thumper verison of the human stitch and bitch to be - "crap and chat". Probably isn't much different in all likelihood. Surely they don't just drop the one package - they must get rid of loads in one go which would give them ample time to engage in aforementioned chat and crap.
