It did get suddenly very bloody dark here in the East side.
I'll look forward to that taking me by surprise!
So it really was thunder!

I thought it was
sonic boom time again.
Edit: Make that 'is thunder', not 'was'...

i don't think any planes that can cause a sonic boom will be flying in this weather. There are some things even the best technology can't cope with.

You must be one of those peeps who roams around in shorts in the middle of winter like my old neighbour from Alberta
Been to Moskow in the winter- is much colder in Winterpeg!
Daisy
Feb 9 2006, 4:28 pm
note to self:
never travel to winipeg. At least in winter.
Daisy, the summers will kill you- +30-35 for about 6 weeks with no rain, sun setting at 10 pm, and raising at 5 (hard if sleeping in a tent).

Tent? people still sleep in tents when they are such luxurious beds around?
Nobody on MTV cribs sleeps in a tent.

You bet! The steed is in the basement drying off from the morning commute, and in a couple of hours I'll be tearing it up on the way home. The snow, that is, not the pavement. My studs do no damage.

I saw bunnies for the first time in ages last week too. But do they really go somewhere (holiday?) during winter or is it just that I don't see them as much? Do their coats change colour so maybe they are actually still all around me (pulling gang signs n'stuff) but invisible to my eyes?
Just curious.

I think they hibernate don't they? This guy lives outside my office window, and although I saw him a couple of times last winter he hasn't been around this year yet:

Saw a black squirrel this morning, the sort with the tufty ears. Looked a bit confused.

BEWARE... S-Bahn's are running 20min-1hr late depending on the line.
Check MVV/DB's website or the radio for current announcements before you leave home..
Roads "Out in the Stix" are also very bad, but should hopefully be cleaned-up soon.

Smaller roads in the center (
Schwabing) are not particularly well groomed yet either. Now that the icy roads I slipped on last night on
Frankfurter Ring are covered witha fine layer of snow, I wish all you commuters good luck.

My gripe is this trickling of snow. Either snow and dump something I can actually shovel or don't snow at all...like the way it happens in Utah - it's beautiful - snows all night and when you wake up in the morning for skiing, it's sunny and beautiful.

kitkat - either you forgot about the inversions and the lack of sun for days in Utah or you were staying on the mountain
Was thinking again on the walk home from dropping off the kiddos how much Munich is like SLC - now the snow.

Feb 10 2006, 9:53 am
Yeah, Salt Lake City is just *beautiful* when it's suffocating under a blanket of smog...
And it only sometimes snows during the night - there's no meterological condition which means it only snows at night. It's just as likely to be snowing during the day.

regarding bunnies
QUOTE

apparently not. I was bored/interested enough to check this up and the website stated that rabbits do not hibernate and if your rabbit gets all sleepy in the winter it is sick and not hiberbating.

However they do have nice deep burrows which they cuddle up in (and as an extra bonus fact for you as its Friday, hares tend just to have little scraped depressions in the ground rather than burrows)
So now you know

OK, OK, I'll admit it. I was there for 5 days in Park City, Utah and every night it snowed and everyday was sunny and beautiful.
SLC - no idea - was there for 2 hours - both spent at the airport.

I've seen no shortage of rabbits and hares this winter. If anything, its easier to see them in snowy weather than it is in summer if you ask me. They're hard to see at night in summer, but stick out when its a white snowy field.
See alot of shit too. It seems that rabbits all congragate in the same spot to have a shit. It's well noticeable in the snow, hundreds of rabbit shits all in the same place. No chance its just one rabbit, loads of tracks, and far too much shit.

Fascinating, the rabbit world. I have an image in my head of what I imagine a thumper verison of the human stitch and bitch to be - "crap and chat". Probably isn't much different in all likelihood. Surely they don't just drop the one package - they must get rid of loads in one go which would give them ample time to engage in aforementioned chat and crap.
