My Premiere satellite set-top box is frozen

My two-year old Premiere digital set-top satellite box appears to be kaput. It won't change channels from the remote or directly from the box nor will it power down unless the power plug is pulled. Plugging/unplugging the box from the power source doesn't work either as it just stays on one channel and doesnt' show any picture.

There doesn't appear to be a reset switch on the box that I can see. Does anyone in-the-know have any clue what I can do or is my box simply kicked?

BTW...if I have to buy a new box, can I buy any digital satellite reciever that will take my Premiere smart-card?

switch it off for a few minutes and then power up. otherwise it sounds like its fucked. i have two spare sat boxes at home. am willing to sell you one.

This happens to me every so often. You just need to unplug it, power cycle, on your way. Probably not very good for the box, but I couldn't find another solution.

what boxes are you guys using btw?

Got it from Kabel Deutschland - I think the brand is called "PACE" or something.

If you can wait until the end of the month, you can have mine for free. It isn't perfect, but it usually works fine. And power-cycling works if it ever freezes.

d-box2 and humax both for sat, we've just moved flat and have cabel so im going to get a box for cabel. 'll check on the used price.

muslei your box wont work for kit. its a cabel box not a sat box.

Aargh missed that "sat box" part of the post. Sorry! No, my set-top box won't work for you - it only works for premiere and kabel digital (Kabel Deutschland).
