I think there is a thread already with directions etc...but one thing to note...often times it is closed for inclement weather i.e. bad snow & ice, or rain. We went have been twice - once was great but very busy and the other time half of it was closed due to the rain washing out a portion. It is about 1 km long...very nice and beautiful. I would check first before venturing out in the winter as the one time we drove up there in winter it was closed sad.gif

Here is some English info on how to get there.
Sounds really nice - I'd like to check it out. Has anyone visited it in winter when it's open? Would you recommend it or think it's best to wait until summer?

is there a phone number we can call or something to make sure its opent he day we wanna go??

@marshbot- i heard that it is really nice during the winter cuz of all the huge ice cicles n stuff.

Here's some pictures from a visit we made there a few years ago.

it's impressive in winter - we went in November a year and a bit ago. In the meantime there's been a big flood and rock damage, it wasn't open when I was last there in the summer, but they may have cleared it up by now. Worth phoning ahead...

I recommend Höllertalklamm too which I would say is even more spectacular and just up the road (near Grainau). Will fish out some pics at some point.

With regards to other stuff around Partnachklamm you can walk up to the Eckbauernalm (sp) which serves a nice beer and has good views of Zugspitze (or you can take the seilbahn from Garmisch up to the Alm and then walk down to the klamm)
