I'm once again off to
Munich airport.
Can anyone please offer any tips on how to pass the time in what to me appears to be such a dull, soulless place.

If the sun is out, there's a nice Terasse on the second floor facing the beer garden where people go to sun tan.

Take a trip to Besucherpark (one S-Bahn stop back towards Munich), there's various displays and stuff, plus a viewing platform. There's also a viewing platform in T2. Remarkably for an airport making millions each year, you have to pay an entrance fee for both these "attractions".
There's info on these and other ideas here:
Flughafen München: Erlebnis FlughafenAnd basic info in English here:
Visitor Park jaAnd has anyone mentioned
Airbräu? They even have a non-smoking area now, pretty remarkable for Germany.

Terminal 2 has free tea and coffe along with cake sometimes and all the newspapers here and a few international ones. If youhave a lap top there also wireless...
Screw it. Clearly anyone can read a book, people wathch, poke in the shops, listen to music, surf the internet. I say you bring a big ass block of cheese. Carve it into an image of, say Hitler, and then eat it slowly with a toothpick. If you watch enough old A Team tapes I bet you could figure out how to wire it so that it plays Barry White.

things to do at the airport:
1. go to the information desk and ask them to page people with
comedy names.
2. leave a bag unattented and see how long it takes them to find it and blow it up.

There is wireless lan at the airport so if you have a notebook you can logon and write some more posts to Toytown

or check back to see if any decent suggestions have been made in the meantime

I was so bored in there once that I went into Hermès and got the bored salesgirl to show me different ways to tie my scarf for half an hour.
Luckily it was one of theirs that I had on and she was pleased for the distraction (they didn't have any other customers).
Trying on La Perla knickers and posh shoes also kills tons of time (and money if you find something that you like).
Trying on La Perla knickers. That goes without saying. Thanks.
You say you need help choosing a present for your girlfriend and then you get the salesgirl to try them on, obviously.
Airbräu has two euro beers, which can be good, and if they arent you can log on to Toytown and give
lupo crap about it.

Arrange your delay to happen in Schipol and go and look at the Art Museum - Rembrandt show coming up in March, then hit the Casino or the Relaxation area where you can sit in a big comfy chair in the barge simulator (you appear to be at the helm or equiv. of a large boat meandering VERY slowly through major waterways) - remember to set an alarm to remind you to go and get your plane as you will surely fall asleep...
