For those who love Bauer's strawberry yoghurt & possess the following items with the noted expiration date, bring them back to the supermarket where you bought them. You will be refunded your money.

Apparently they are suspected of having glass slivers in them. Cause & reason unknown.

Below info came directly from Bauer Milch --> Rückrufaktion Erdbeerjoghurt

Elf's Impromptu translation of press release:

As told by the company, certain products could possibly contain glass slivers, which in exceptional cases after consuming, could lead to injuries. Possible case for the impurities are being checked at the time.

For consumers, Bauer has set up a free hotline: 800-0321321 (from outside Germany: 0049-69-50506656).

Nice. I ate some for breakfast this morning. Didn't notice any crunchy bits so I guess I'm safe. Will certainly check the rest in the fridge though. Thanks for the heads-up.

i am always intimidated by their 250 g cups. i never finish them, so i eat either Almight or Landliebe (both also don't use gelatine). in fact, i just bought Landliebe strawberry, but in a jar.

250 g huh.gif we must not shop at the same place. mine come only in the 100 g variety. Course I live in the sticks so not so many choices available. wink.gif

slightly off topic here but still kinda connected, bauer raspberry yogurt used ot be my absolute all time favourite yogurt, used to eat it every day! until a couple of years ago when whilst tucking into a pot, got half way through and found a beetle in it! right in the middle! was traumatised and to this day haven't eaten another bauer yogurt since! can't bear to eat yogurts with bits fo fruit in now, just in case that bit of fruit isn't actually a bit of fruit ... ph34r.gif

Oh no, Bauer raspberry yoghurt is my favourite, there must be at least half a dozen of them in my fridge right now. A beetle, you say? I'll try not to think about your post tomorrow morning!

Edit: Or maybe I should strain the yoghurt...
Eleanor Rigby
That can happen to any product. It says nothing about the quality or sanitation of the plant. Even in the most sterile conditions, occasionally foreign substances make their way in.

I wouldn't give it another thought.

Don't worry, wasn't actually going to strain it, getting up in the morning is strain enough! biggrin.gif

What's way more disturbing is the Food Defect Action Levels provided by the US Food and Drug Administration. Apparently it's okay for chocolate to have 3 rodent hairs per 100g. Yuck!
