I´ve seen what seems to be some kind of sleek Siemens prototype train speed by my station a couple of times now in the last week. Just curious if anyone knows any more about it. I wasn´t able to find anything on their web site . I´ve seen the train speed by on a third track coming from the Starnberg area and heading towards Pasing. It didn´t seem to have passengers in it and on the digital display on the front it said Siemens...If they´re indeed testing, it looks like a fun job - "Pedal to the metal, and let´s see what she can do!"

was that the two carridge blue one with large windows?
Lupo

gideon
noticed that too, no idea what it is...

Hi!
The Train is for testing of a new security system called "European Train Control System" (ETCS) Level 2. Siemens.
Here you'll find a description (German): European Train Control System
The official Siemens home page (English): Siemens ETCS
The test train: Train

Puzzle solved. Danke!

I saw it this afternoon pass Starnberg Nord, when I was coming home from school, hope this is not what caused the 30 min delay the Sbahns were having.
Malcolm Spudbury
No, the delay would be because of the unexploded bomb.
