The Salon is a beauty salon run by Jeanette Boszczyk-Lesar - one of Munich's beauty icons. She is known for her endless search for the most innovative and modern beauty procedures. Jeanette has the experience to be able to recognise which treatments lead to a glowing younger looking healthy shine and the ones that promise everything and give nothing.

Jeanette's speciality is the permanent removal of hair with Pulsed Light. She trained in New York and has 8 years' experience to her credit. Waxing and photorejuvenation facials are also her speciality.

Synonymous with her successful previous salon, the Green Door, from which she has now separated - Jeannette is to be found at the Salon at the same address on the first floor. The atmosphere is tranquil and the treatments are the finest in the world. The Salon is cult.

I used to go to The Green Door. I remember on of the co-owners being extremely rude (she was German). However, one woman (I believe from South Africa originally?) was wonderful. So which one opened the new salon? If it is the rude one, then I will definitely NOT be going.

This is the *nice* one. She is great and does great work. Highly recommended.

...and a wonderfully dry sense of humour!

Without sounding like a cheapskate...

What are the prices like? I need to find a good salon - but I don't want to be charged an arm and a leg either.
gemini
not cheap. But the service is first rate. A facial will definately run 100 Euros +

I have been to the Salon and had excellent treatment. Jeanette has a fantastic sense of humour and although I was having a rather sensitive waxing done, found myself laughing through the whole procedure!! Her prices are fair. Many of her treatments are extremely upmarket and the prices reflect this but her professionalism and the products she uses are absolutely first rate. Just a shame she is away until the end of January!!

I've just made an appointment with Jeanette at the salon for today. I was previously going to another place that used strip wax, which doesn't work very well on me.
Does anyone know what type of wax jeanette uses? - i forgot to ask her

It is thick, goopy, green wax that is in a heated pot. Doesn't require any papers to pull it off, and to me was a whole lot less painful.

I just got banned from going there because I cancelled an appointment... Fair enough I guess as I didn't give her 24 hour notice, but she didn't exactly tell me about a cancellation policy. dry.gif

EDIT: But she's a lovely woman and made an excruciating process as bearable as possible. Even gave me Prosecco to dull the pain. I'd recommend her.
irina_bg
here's the cancellation policy - doesn't say anything about banning people though unsure.gif

huh.gif Oh. That's a bummer. I often don't know 46 hours in advance if I'm going to need to cancel or not. And because of my work, a babysitter who often cancels on me last minute if her kid is sick, and everything else in my my life, I'm lucky if I cancel within 24-hours. unsure.gif Perhaps I'm just a very bad customer.

Just back from my regular visit to Jeanette and I have to say I am extremely happy with the treatment ! laugh.gif She always makes me laugh (whilst taking my mind off the pain), although I'm sure she kills herself laughing at the faces I pull while it's being done !! blink.gif But the effects are definitely worth it !! rolleyes.gif
After reading the thread I just want to say that I know some people cannot always plan their timetables, but if she asks for 24 hour cancellation notice, then give the lady the courtesy of a quick call, it's her business, time wasted is money lost ...
I would recommend Jeanette no problem and believe comments about people being "banned" definitely 'one-off.

Had to laugh when I came home tonight. In my mailbox, I found an advertisment, addressed specifically to me, for the Salon after I'd been banned for cancelling within a few hours of my appointment. Seems she must have forgotten to take me off the mailing list.
