Munich Philharmonic - experiences getting tickets

Münchner Philharmoniker

cabridelle
It seems that that tickets for thie MP fly fast and early. Often it is difficult to find lowest priced tickets even one month before a concert.
Do they put them on sale later, or is it normal that tickets go that fast?

That said, I'd like to see the Carmina Burana (it's on in March I think). Anyone else?
Maybe one in February too... like:

Jean-Philippe Rameau
"Les Indes galantes", Suite

Ludwig van Beethoven
Schauspielmusik zu Goethes "Egmont"

Hey,

I'd be intrested in either Carmina or the Egmont.

Let me know

I never noticed that they go that fast. Maybe you were just unlucky this time round? I guess it could depend on the price range though.

I would be up for Beet's Eggy or Carmina.

Are they doing anything by Mozart?
I am partial to a bit of Mozart, I must admit, and I'd be keen to go see anything by him

Mozart this Saturday/Sunday/Monday, cheapest tickets left are on Monday, 16.10 Euros.

The Herkules Saal at the Residence (I think that is where it is) often has classical concerts alot cheaper than the MP, or try catching a rehersal... they allow the public in for certain rehersals and its not very costly. I don't know where you get that information, but I have a girlfriend who goes alot.

I am going to see the munchner philarmoniker concert tonight (the pieces are "Egmont" and "Les Indes Galantes", check www.mphil.de for more details). I have a spare ticket, 16 Euros, last row.
Anyone interested, please call me at 0174-7595739.

How's people's experiences booking online via muenchenticket? I'm trying to book online for a concert a few months from now, and the only allocation is in the back row, worst seats for the section I'm interested in. Can't choose the desired seats neither. Is it like airline bookings - they fill from the back, and work forwards? Anyone have better experiences going directly to the Gasteig for tickets?

I live right beside the Gasteig so have always picked them up there direct. Never had any problems.

Munich Ticket is great. They also deliver to your home or you can pick them up at the venue.

Only had one problem so far when they sent tickets to a concert to another TT member instead of to me. We both have the same name and ordered tickets for the same concert on the same day, so it confused them.

Yeah, I've had good experience with munich ticket before, I'd just not bought philharmonic tickets online. I wasn't sure if the Thursday concert several months from now that I wanted seats for had really sold the best seats, or if it was "filling from the back to front" for the early buyers. I went down to the Gasteig, and sure enough, the best seats were gone, and the booked seats online were the only ones possible. Suspicions disproven! Still would be nice if they actually showed the already taken seats via the website though.
