Exploding Gluhwein bottles

I've just returned from the shops to find glass and gluhwein alll over our kitchen. At first I thought, damn cats; but they're shut out of the kitchen when we're not there. Then I thought, well, perhaps it fell. But it was laying in a wine rack 2 inches off the floor. So it must have exploded and judging by the number and scatter of the pieces (thousands, everywhere), it just exploded.

So this is a warning to anyone who has a half used bottle of this dangerous stuff lying anywhere near a radiator (or even just a half bottle anywhere) - toss it!

Yeah, Its your own fault for not finnishing it off!

Lethal stuff anyway, next year brew your own. I'm glad neither you nor the missus nor the kitties got hurt.

seeing the mess, we're damn lucky, thanks. i usually make my own (special and very deadly recipe), but someone brought this to our housewarming and i guess we had a couple of glasses from it one evening over the festive season. tbh, i'd forgotten it was down in the corner. a rude reminder!
