I'm thinking of applying for a job with an NGO, and the salary is based on BAT III. Does anyone know exactly what that means? I've already done an Internet search and haven't been able to find it...

Bundesangestelltentariff perhaps?

I know, but where can I find out how much it is?

Hi, I have worked for an NGO and have never heard of BAT III. huh.gif

Each NGO has their own salary scale and terminology. Best person to ask would be the NGO itself. They should provide you with the full terms of contract and not expect to tell you BAT III and expect you to comprehend it!!! blink.gif Madness!

Ask them, I am sure they would have no problem explaining it to you.

Do a google search. It will also depend on your marriage/kids status and age.

Many thanks!

OG's right, and BAT is a totally normal German abbreviation and any company in Germany can very well expect applicants to know what it is. Grenouille also knew what it was, just not where to find the charts.

The BAT has recently been converted to the TvOeD.. tarif for the public workers. I ain't so fancy with this tinternet thingy nor German tables, ah but perhaps that'll give you a nudge in the right direction.
