Costume shops for Fasching

Where to buy wig and fake beard etc.

Hey there,

I am looking for a place to buy/rent a wig and a fake beard (No, not Osama-style). Usually, I don't really do the whole Fasching thing, but this year I figured I might as well give it a shot.

Hence the demand for a wig (-> like a fro, but lighter) and a somewhat bushy beard (brown/greyish) - anybody out there who can help me?

Yours,
Tobi

See Halloween costume shops for info on many places in Munich where you'll get this stuff.

Aldi are doing very cheap wigs at the moment. Honestly.

All the big stores like Kaufhof and Karstadt also have sections devoted to Fasching costumes.

C&A and Woolworth's are both really cheap too!

If you've got an imagination, Kleidermarkt im Tal have lots of second hand clothing that can easily be made into cheap costumes.

There's a costume shop on Lindwurmstrasse, just off Goetheplatz (on the post office side).

My new sortof good idea is:
Get two cardboard boxes and paint them concrete grey.
Cut hole in top and stick feet through.
Wear what you like for the rest of the outfit but have pale make-up on.
Ta-dah!
You're a mafia hit!

You can tell I'm in a jolly mood today can't you?

Yeah Moonboot, you see what we talk about when you don't show up wink.gif

I'll be in Munich (first time, arrviving next Saturday) and plan to partake in the Fasching festivities. Any advice on costume shops that RENT (and speak some english). The board messages and sites I've read all talk about purchasing costumes. I'd rather rent since I'm traveling light. tx. mark.

Do a search and get this: Munich Fancy Dress Hire? For Fasching / Carnival

Thanks. I will try to communicate with one of those places in advance. The search engine didn't find any hits for costume AND rent (or rental). This one had renting (didn't think of hire). I read most of the other costume threads, this must have been the only one I didn't (wasn't looking for fancy necessarily, so probably passed it by). m.

No worries, it happens smile.gif Good luck on your costume search.
