Hello folks,
A friend of mine is looking for a german language course, 20 hours a week in the evenings (from 5:30 pm onwards). The 20 hours is the minimum requirement to obtain a Student Visa. I have checked with all the big\popular language schools but none of them have what I am looking for. Does anyone know of any other schools\institutions where they might offer this. Appreciate any help on this matter.

Goethe Institut -- they have an intensive evening course (Mon-Thu, 6:15-8:15) that makes you eligble for a residence permit as a student in an "intensiv sprachkurs" although it's only 8 hours/week. They also have a day course that is 20 hrs/week.

Hello!
Many thanks for your suggestions. I've tried Goethe Institut but, unfortunately they don't have 20 hours in the evening (what they said is that he needs 20 hours a week). Prisma, I also phoned yesterday but, they don't have the course in the evening.
Anyway..many thanks for your replies.
Cheers

try this one: <http://www.dkfa.de/>
I have been told that it's good and cheap, with reductions for students.

if you friend really wants a student visa to learn german, then why don't they want to take the day courses? are they allergic to daylight? i know some people are, but 20 hours in the evening? phew, that would be hard work. sorry, seems quite suspect to me. dry.gif

good question elfenstar!

(i know if i stay longer i'll prob do the same thing, but will still be working, but since my visa will of run out that's another way to stay. so perhaps something along those lines? old visa expiring so making up some other way to stay w/ preexisting daytime commitments?)

Ladies,
thanks for the answer anyway.
Don't know why, just know that he needs a student Visa, the reason why he needs the hours. What he does or not...doesn't really matter for me. Just try to find the information.
