Just for reference, I found this handy little site last night whilst ordering a chinese take-out:
http://www.hunger-stillen.de/Essentially, load her up, pop your postcode in the box in the middle and then a list of places that will deliver to your address appears. Click on one and an online menu appears and you can select what you want to eat. Pop your address in at the bottom and hit order and the stuff arives about an hour later.
The Golden Dragon chinese delivered to my place in
Schwabing last night - took about an hour to arrive and cost €25 to eat very well indeed.
It's a handy little service, especially if your German isn't up to ordering stuff on the phone. Most of the places online do only seem to be pizza places though I'm afraid...

I use
http://www.hot-wok.de/nice features about this service include
* the food is nice
* you can order online for a particular time and they will deliver roughly on time (so order before you leave the office, tell them you want it by X o'clock and that is you sorted)
* you can customise your order on line (extra hot? extra cashew nuts? yadayada)
* they allow you to pay the delivery man by EC karte
* they apologise when they make a fcukup (rare) and put it right, quickly and without a grumble (even more rare!) - although this has only happened to me once
* once you have used them once they give you a customer number and you never have to spell your name again (very important in my case since that takes the better part of an evening)

Last Saturday we used
http://www.callapizza.de/ for the food and
http://www.alkoport.de/ for the drinks. The pizza was there quite fast, the drinks took a little longer, but the beers were cold, so that was really good. They don't charge delivery cost when you order more than 15 euro's.

I am stuck in my office now and am starving- I want to order some food but I only have cards on me and no cash. There is no time to go to the cash point [got a deadline to meet] Does anyone know a food delivery service that takes either Amex or a bank card that has Cirrus/Maestro [not EC]
Thanks,
Vanessa

You should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky!
I hate always having to have cash on me here and there never being any of my banks cash machines anywhere near, so I have to pay some fee to get out money.

I really want an Indian take away, but don't want to go outside into the freezing cold to pick one up from the local restaurant.
I could only find 1 Indian take away joint, and that was in Trudering! Anyone know of a good website to find take away services close to your house which doesn't just do pizza / Thai?
I miss a good old Chinese too, British style!
I've given up, and gone for pizza now (trying a new place for me, Call a Pizza, thx to the other thread:
Munich Pizza Delivery).

Ive got lots of menus for delivery. Ive tried a few with mixed results. The two Id give a shout to are Vietnamese, more info
Cam-Ly Vietnamese restaurant - with home delivery and New Delhi for Indian. No write up on New Delhi as Im a curry newbie. No way would I presume to critique a curry on this board. However what I would say is that entrees are in the 10+ range (little less for vegetarian), the food is always tasty, warm and delivered to my door in about an hour on weeknights. They`ve got a pretty full menu. Give em a ring at 0894701768. Tell em the one that orders the tandoori and the many cola lights sent you. Probably wont know what the hell you`re talking about but hey I will. Actually tell em Toytown sent you, I think its a repeat regular on the curry nights.

Well, Call a Pizza took 1 hr 10 mins to deliver. (They did phone as soon as we placed the order online to say it would ein bisschen dauern). The pizzabase was a bit too doughy and soggy, but the toppings were nice. I chose a crust with cheese inside it, was so-so.
Thx for the info on La Barca, will try them next time

Hooray, an Indian restaurant is now doing take away/delivery near me!
Indo PakEnglschalkinger Str. 245
Muenchen
Tel.: 089 90 93 68 10
Rogan josh and chicken korma was pretty tasty (though the chicken was sometimes chewy). Who cares, it's Indian one way or another!
They provided us with pappadums and sauces, plus an extra pack of rice for free! (anyone want some rice?

).
Their English is much better than their German, and you can order things which are not on the menu too.

UA- I tried them last week, great food, and was delivered in about 25 min to the door! I will def order there again.

ps- I put the extra rice in the freezer, then its good for soups or fried rice.

I noticed on the bill later that Indo Pak actually belong to Santoor, the Indian restaurant in Englschalking.
It took them around 30 mins for us, as they got lost and had to call because they didn't know where our road was

Santoor is a good restaurant. Is the delivery place of a similar standard?
UrbanAngel
Mar 17 2006, 9:14 am
I don't know, I was just thinking about this.. the sauce to me seemed a lot tastier than in the restaurant itself, but I was a little disappointed with the chicken. I've not eaten in Santoor for a while, plus it's the 1st time I ordered take away, so I can't really compare the 2 quite yet.
Besides, I can't be picky - I think it's the only Indian who will deliver to us!

Neu Dehli should deliver to you but the quality of that place is dire since they opened up the new restaurant, Tandoori.

If you live or work in the Haidhausen/Au/Giesing area, there's a relatively new Asian delivery place called Chopstixx where the food is really delicious.
Sometimes they are slow with the delivery, but when they know they're backed up, they will tell you when you order.
I recommend the dishes with ginger and lemongrass - yummy yummy yummy (for example #26 Gai Pan Khing, which is the version with chicken.)
