I read about a new shop which has opened up in 'In Muenchen' which sounds interesting:

'An attractive address for Munich's bargain hunters has already opened in Muenchen-Freimann: 'Fund-Sachen'. Europe's largest (and only) shop for lost property left on public transport offers all those people who have left an umbrella or stuffed crocodile the chance for delayed gratification. Over 10,000 lost property items are being sold in the flea market hall opposite Maria-Prost-Str. 43. Amongst all these items is a huge selection of brand name items. The unusually cheap lost property market is specialised in jeans, leather jackets, sweatshirts, jumpers, coats, trainers, boots, hats, caps and outdoor clothing. If you're lucky, you'll also find original glasses, CDs, musical instruments, bits and bobs and the usual 'crazy stuff'. Also on offer: rucksacks, expedition equipment and tents- really everything that finds itself alone at night in the U-Bahn depot. The market is best reachable by U-Bahn (U6 Freimann). But make sure you pay attention to your own belongings!

Opening times: Thurs & Fri 12pm - 6pm, Sat 9am - 6pm'.

during the day??? I can only go daytimes, I'd love to go though, and would feel a little safer heading to a "lost property left on public transport" shop with someone else... do you think if you could prove an item was yours you could get it back??

That is right down the street from me and has been there for awhile. It is part of the flohmarkt Zenith. I think that this is just a new way to sell the same ol same ol, but as flohmarkts go, it is huge and there is tons of stuff to be had. If anyone is in the neighborhood going, then let me know. I may just join you. My wife loves to browse around there and Ian is old enough not to grab everything.

Only canadians hah, but no I do not think so. I once donated an old jacket(huge overcoat with large pocket on the inside) to goodwill. I did not realise one of my old journals was in it. Believe it or not about six months later I was shopping at goodwill and found that jacket I thought woow thislooks like my old one. I looked inside and saw the the inner lining was tore(like my old one) and and felt a bulge in the pocket(it was the journal!). I tried to get the journal back and told the saleslady it was mine and where I donated at. She said they had no record of where the get them from and told me I would have to buy the jacket if wanted the journal back. I was like f++k that. A buddy I was with though has "a problem" and came out of the store with my journal 5 minuetes later. No I am not condoning stealing but it was mine. Besides I do not pay for thoughts haha.

There was a glass eye in one of the cases, along with some fake arms/legs and dentures..

Just how does one forget to take their fake arm/leg with them when they get off the train... blink.gif
