I saw this in the Süddeutsche Zeitung today and want to pass it around. This guy has been missing since December 2005 and was supposed to have been heading from Dormagen to Munich. Maybe somebody here knows him or has information.
Details: Travis Leigh Wooster, Australian citizen, born 16.Sep.1975, aproximately 6'3" tall, light brown hair, blue eyes, slim build and fair complexion.

Have looked into the AU Embassy websites for Frankfurt & Berlin and the AU Department of Foreign Affairs site, and can find nothing about this person. Even tried my google foo... Nothing, Me thinks this might be a Hoax but the Phone # is the real # for the AU konsulat in Frankfurt
.
Australisches Generalkonsulat - Austrade
Neue Mainzer Str. 52-58 (Main Tower, 28. Etage), 60311 Frankfurt
Tel. 069/90558-0, Fax 90558-119
Still funny though that the Frankfurt address is geared more towards trade to/from AU than normal AU konsulat affairs and is located in an office bldg, instead of a compound type place like all the other foreign konsulats in Frankfurt. Who wants to call the konsulat on Monday and find out

Fear for missing carer is growingMissing: Travis Wooster.
By Christie Peucker
Concern is mounting for the safety of Shepparton man Travis Wooster, who has been missing in Europe for more than a month.
The 30-year-old was last heard from on December 2 after catching a ferry from England to The Netherlands.
A personal carer, Mr Wooster has been living in the United Kingdom for the past two years and was scheduled to drive from The Netherlands to Munich Airport in Germany to meet a disabled client and take him skiing in Austria.
Mr Wooster never arrived at the airport.
His mother Faye told The News her son's van had been spotted on closed circuit television footage at a ferry port in The Netherlands and credit card statements show he bought petrol about 100 km from the port.
He also phoned a friend in England on the evening of December 2, when he said he was in Germany, but Mr Wooster has not been heard from since.
Mrs Wooster said she did not panic until her son failed to phone home for Christmas. She said his disappearance was completely out of character.
"There's no way he would leave a disabled person waiting," Mrs Wooster said.
"It's obvious that something has happened." Mrs Wooster said agencies including Australian Federal Police and the Australian ConsulateGeneral in Germany were working to locate her son, but the mystery of his disappearance was of the greatest concern.
"We don't know where to start," she said.
"There is no point us going over to a foreign country where we don't know the language.
"It's very frustrating that nothing seems to be happening."
Mrs Wooster said she would not give up her search until her son was found.

Fears mount for missing manQUOTE

FAMILY fears are mounting for a Victorian man missing in Europe for the past five weeks.
Travis Wooster, 30, of Shepparton, has not been seen since December 2 after catching a ferry from England to the Netherlands.
His bank accounts and mobile telephone have not been used since.
Mr Wooster, who works as a personal carer, had been due to drive from the Netherlands to Germany to meet a disabled client, but did not show up.
His mother Faye said her son's failure to make the appointment was the strongest indication something terrible had happened.
Mrs Wooster said Travis was deeply committed to his job and would not willingly break such an engagement.
"That's the main point -- that he didn't pick up this fellow." she said.
Mrs Wooster said her son was not the most frequent caller to home but had promised to ring at Christmas. The fact he had not been in touch with a childhood mate now living in London was further cause for alarm, she said.
"We've got absolutely nothing. Something has happened to him. I have a gut feeling things aren't as they should be," Mrs Wooster said.
Australian Consulate officials in Germany are helping the family book advertisements in newspapers in the hope that will yield answers.

What makes you think he's lounging around Munich? - highly unlikely. He's a carer and missed an appointment at Munich airport in early December to meet a client. He is a man who presumably takes his social responsibilities seriously, and was coming here to earn money as a caring escort. Six weeks later I can't see it likely he's sitting down
The Arc (or wherever) sipping a couple of jugs of the amber nectar, or if he was, then he'd have called home in the meantime...

He wouldn't be the first person to lose track of time and miss an appointment after a session at
The Arc
But in all seriousness, Yorkshirelad is right - there's a pretty good chance he never even got to Munich. However just in case he did get here earlier and disappeared after he got to Munich, I'll stick up a poster - can't hurt, anyway...

Natural causes could be any number of things. Probably means there was no foul play or suicide. Could have been due to the cold, or a pre-existing, undiagnosed medical condition. Anything really...

BODY FOUND
Travis Wooster
By Christie Peucker
January 16 2006
Shepparton News
The body of missing Shepparton man Travis Wooster has been found in his camper van at a rest stop in Germany.
Mr Wooster's parents Faye and Bill were notified by Shepparton police early Saturday morning that their son's body had been found after he was reported missing six weeks ago.
His body was found just off the autobahn near Darmstadt in south-west Germany on Friday Australian time.
Preliminary reports indicate Mr Wooster died of natural causes.
The 30-year-old personal carer was last heard from on December 2 after catching a ferry from England to the Netherlands.
He was scheduled to drive from the Netherlands to Munich Airport in Germany to meet a disabled client and take him skiing in Austria but never arrived at the airport.
Mr Wooster had been living in the United Kingdom for the past two years.
Mrs Wooster said she had mixed emotions about hearing of her son's death.
"They seem to think it was from natural causes, so whether that was a heart attack or an aneurism we don't know yet," Mrs Wooster said.
"It's a relief that he didn't suffer at the hands of others.
"That was our initial thought and dread."
Mrs Wooster said it was hard to believe someone as fit and athletic as her son could have died in such a fashion.
"I can't fathom it," she said.
"He was a skier and had to lift a quadriplegic for his job."
It has also been difficult for the Wooster family to understand why he was at the rest stop for so long before being found.
An autopsy is expected to be carried out on Monday German time.
Mrs and Mr Wooster and their Melbourne-based son Sean are scheduled to fly to Germany on Friday, where they will meet their other son Jason, who will fly in from Brazil, and Mr Wooster's best friend Scott.
There they will conduct a private cremation before returning to Australia with Mr Wooster's ashes.
Mrs Wooster said the family was likely to hold a memorial service for Travis on their return.
"It's going to be a harrowing week but I want to see him and organise to bring him home," she said.
Prayers and condolences have been pouring in to the Wooster family from locally and across the globe, support that Mrs Wooster finds consoling.
"All his friends are devastated," Mrs Wooster said.
"Strangers have turned up at the door telling us how great Trav was.
"It's comforting to us that he was thought of in such a way."
Mr Wooster's life was remembered during a special candle-lighting service at South Shepparton Uniting Church parish yesterday.
Seems like Hazza got him out from under that table then...

I find it strange that no one noticed the smell. Sure it has been cold, but that rest stop had to be stinking to high heaven and no one noticed?
Showem
Jan 19 2006, 11:10 pm
Probably wouldn't have decomposed that much in the cold. And being inside a van would dampen the smell. And have you been at a normal rest stop? They stink pretty much already without a dead body there.
eurovol
Jan 19 2006, 11:20 pm
Have you ever smelled a dead body? It isn't pleasant and it imperviates everything. A neighbor of a friend of mine died once and three days later the entire building stunk! When I worked at a hospital, a lady had gangrene eating up her leg and that whole wing of the hospital was sickening. We are talking 6 weeks! Even refrigeration doesn't stop the decay.
Granted, you are right about normal rest stops stinking anyways, but this is like a dead mouse somewhere in the house. We may hear more about this and it will be interesting as to the time of death.
