So does anyone have any hot tips where to get a good deal on a new laptop ? I started looking but when you get presented with 500 model variations from 1000 producers its hard to know where to start and I am not so keyed up on what to look for when buying a laptop.
Being a lazy bastard would prefer to get something online, around €1,000 (0% financing over 6-12 months would be great), with a decent sized screen for watching DVD's (min 15,4"), decent processor, 1GB of RAM would be nice. Not fussed about a DVD burner but guess they are fairly standard. WLAN would be good but also not a necessity.
Not afraid to buy from the lesser known brands, so wondered if anyone else has done some research recently that I could leech off of.
Cheers for any hints, tips, flames, sarcastic comments

I would definitely recommend AlienWare, if you got the mullah.
Dell is ok as well.
However, if you are open to something between a laptop and a PC, check these guys out. Definitely recommended!

NetonNet.deThey usually offer cheaper deals on stuff than most. However, for a laptop I recently got a great deal in Saturn. It was a one day only thing which they do from time to time. Worth having a look.

Magic Devices on Mariahilfstr have a decent range of new and used LapTops of all makes and models, and usually have good prices to go with them. They can also offer lease and other finance options on the goods they sell. You can buy online or visit their shop

Well if you want to buy online why not go with
Amazon, they have a neat selection for <1000 €.
Cheap notebooks might be worth checking oot.

Thanks for all these exellent pointers. One other thing, does anyone have any strong feelings about which processor to favour ? AMD, Celeron, Pentium ?
