U-Bahn U5 running late this morning

Today morning U5 (both ways) was running late, a friend who boarded from Odeonsplatz to Neuperlach Süd said it was late by 12 minutes from there...

I also heard announcement that U5 towards Laimer platz was late by around 8 minutes from Neuperlach süd itself...

Any idea why is it so?

well, considering they run every 10 minutes, a 12 minute delay is really only a 2 minute delay unless you are unlucky enough to be the waiting for exactly that train and not the next one. Oder?

Depends on when the friend was waiting; generally they run every 5 minutes during rush-hour. My co-worker was a few minutes late today and blamed the U-Bahn (we've heard that before).

there were definately problems on the U2 and U8. A train didn't come and the platform was crowded when i got there, so couldn't get on the next train that came. My first day using public transport and i get this!

in the mornings and evenings during "rush hour" the U5 runs every 5 minutes Monday thru Thursday.

I would know, I take the U5 in a place where the U4 (nor the U8 for that matter) does not run.
