Very long shot I would imagine, but anybody know of a place where you can rent decent video equipment? I'm talking maybe even TV camera sort of stuff. Any pointers appreciated.

Sounds interesting! What you filming Don?

Well, I've got a willing cameraman who knows how to do video editing and shit, so Don Riina's Ultimate Guide to Food Shopping in Munich is well on the cards.

Had me wondering there for a minute.

Keep on the lookout. We were just selected to tell our "story" to the press with an upcoming documentary.

Don Riina's Ultimate Guide will be truly most excellent! I pity the fools that you will be targetting.

Note: vague Bill n Ted & A-team references intentional.

Sauter near Sendlinger Tor. That's where hubby rented stuff for his friend's bachelor night. Not TV stuff I guess, at least the equipment wasn't as big as what I think they carry around, but quite good. Looking forward to the shopping guide.

Don,

There is a US company in Oberhaching called Panther who do filming of telly programs.

Why don't you buy a JVC DV camera and DIY?

Pull all the video into Ulead Video Studio 8 and you can edit the stuff all you want.

Music you can add yourself via Cubase.

I picture you as a Keith Floyd type wandering around. Don't for get to call your cameraman Clive and drink loads of wine on set!

Final the video into AVI or DIVX then upload it to the web. There was also a thread here on TT about free video hosting sites. Check that out.

I have loads of DV yet to edit but ita all my daughter wandering round. Not to interesting to anyone else.

Good luck!

Even a half-decent domestic DV camera will get as good material as traditional "professional" ENG stuff - although it depends on shooting conditions. As you can then transfer and edit digitally there is no quality loss as with analogue equivalents... Spend your money on a good cameraman and creative direction - that's where you notice the results...

Call up Bayerische Fernsehen and sell them on the idea and there you go. Seriously, then you could get paid for it as well as a starring role! I do have a contact with them as they like to come out and interview us scientist types quite often. cool.gif

Cheers all.
Got some video editing software, but my womans sister is shithot at all that sort of stuff anyway. She said the same as many of you, that you'll get pretty good results without getting too concerned about silly things like getting a massive TV camera and one of those furry things on a stick. I don't wanna start video editing myself really, because then I'll simply spend all of my time superimposing lightsabers in everybodys hands.
