Concert: Jack Johnson @ Olympia Reitanlage

Jack Johnson is playing at Zenith, Munich, on March 16, 2006.

I LOVE JACK JOHNSON! Play his stuff all the time. The younger kids sometime ask for something more hippity hop and then we remind them, "you must be at least 35 years of age to drink here". The underage one are the exception not the rule.

guys I went to see him in dublin and appart from being the sexiest man I have seen on stage he is cool and talented. His music sounds exactly like it does on the CD - but because he forgot his own lyrics, he does very often, we knew he wasn't faking it. He's brilliant live. Enjoy it.

Certainly the support acts were way out there. ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra - that explains a lot!) and Matt Costa. All very odd really. The fact that both support bands shared a bass player who bore a striking resemblance to a Sgt. Pepper era Paul McCarthy didn’t do anything to dispel the belief that there was a lot more than Marlboro being smoked backstage.

Johnson was very good but given the size of the venue and his style of music you kinda get the impression that it'd be much more enjoyable sitting at home in a comfy chair with a dooby on the go or perhaps in that small room at the front of the Muffathalle. I did enjoy it but it just doesn't come across to me as big-venue music.

And there were a lot of trees. Really, a lot of trees.

i also thought the venue would be too big for that kinda music, but I have to say I was impressed with the sound.

Oh thank god I thought I was the only one who thought the venue didn't quite suit his style. I usually like the Zenith for concerts, but it's more for punk rock concerts or something like that - not Jack Johnson.

He'd be great for an open-air festival. Where you can go and sit on the lawn and just enjoy the music.

But hey - Munich weather in March, right?

It was an amazing concert, nonetheless. I managed to sneak my camera in and got some great shots and videos so as soon as my camera cable stops being a jerk to me, I'll share.

jack johnson is GREAT at open air places!!! same as dave mathews band in case anyone likes them too.

aww- glad you guys had a great time- i'm determined to get tickets asap they go on sale next time so i can go to the show too!

I am needing to sell my Jack Johnson ticket for the concert here, in Munich, next Friday at the Riem Reithalle.(July 11)

Doors open at 1630, concert begins at 1830. There are no designated areas. G-love and Special Sauce is opening for him, it should be an incredible concert. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to make it to the concert, so I need to sell my ticket.

I'm asking 44 euros for the ticket. (at cost)

Hi, a question to those who have been to JJ's concert in Olympia Reitanlage. The venue sounds very big and gate opens at 1630 hr but concert start time is 18 hr. Is it advisable to get there early? Or it would be good even if you don't get there 2 hours beforehand?? Boy, I hope it won't rain!
