Schlachthof - club and live venue

some friends have suggested going down there tonight...

i've never been and never heard anything about it...

anybody got an opinion?

their website is about as informative as... as... as... a very uninformative thing...

Last time I was there was a while back. There were 3 distinct sections. One which is basically a big hall, another which is a bar area with a small stage and a third which is a restaurant type affair. They have regular comedy, cabaret and musical acts in the big hall and I think less frequently they have bands in the bar area. Saw a couple of great bands live in the small bar section but I've not been there in a couple of years now, so perhaps someone else might know better.

I really like it. And I find the website very informative -- you just have to speak German is all.

Never played there... yet, but a friend of mine has a few times. They do a lot of German comedy there too. Apart from that I know diddly.

been there for improv night. great fun, gotta get there early, early to even get a seat.

Tja. Someone submitted the Schlachthof to the Guide and while I was commenting on that I searched for it and found this old thread, so I lived it up. I do really like it, and I live just around the corner too! I posted about David Sedaris reading there oh a year ago now maybe, and Axel Hacke... great stuff.
