Tollwood normally opens at 2pm during the week. Due to the strong winds, they have decided for the public's safety to remain closed until 4pm today, when gusts are expected to die down. Anyone who remembers the windstorm of Boxing Day 1999 when among other things, the
Tollwood tent was blown down will appreciate their common sense.

Brought to you by the 3 Little Piggies committee.
More tea, Vicar?

Darn.
So no walking around looking at pointless hippy items and second-rate CDs then?

For somebody who's not been that's a surprisingly accurate description of
Tollwood.

Nail on the head.
The "Tief im See" tent is quite good though. Live music for free. Definitely worth an evening or two. Forget the rest.

@Poots - Made in china.com

(looks like an orange cow to me, but then again maybe the Chinaman that made this hadn't seen a giraffe before).

Are we certain that they'll open back up? I'm planning on meeting some friends there and was wondering where we could check the status at.
Thanks for the heads up!
From someone that doesn't own, and will NEVER own, enough pointless hippy items... although you can keep the second rate cds.

It is true, second-rate CDs and pointless hippy items - but still, I like it - let the 1000 flowers blossom.

Tollwood was just a good reason (since there are so few in Munich) for a nice pre-christmessy piss-up, no?`

Yes accurate description but I think it still makes a fun day to wonder around.

I just phoned them and they don't know yet if they will be open later, but they should know more around 1600. You can call yourself at 089-383 85 00.

Okay, out of sheer curiousity, I phoned them again. They still aren't open and still don't know. Maybe in an hour they'll know more. Personally, I would plan something else for tonight and go another time.

Yeah I was there last night. Fully open and operational. Very busy as usual. They seem to have reduced the number of vendors or something because I was looking for something very specific that they have every year...but they didn't have it

Don't you love leaving Christmas shopping to the last minute
