Festivus - nondenominational holiday in December

so w/ all the talk about celebrations and holidays (tis the holiday season!)
does anyone celebrate festivus? It is only 2 weeks away!

The rest of us celebrate it.

I had to google that one (OK, I wikipedia'd it but that doesn't have quite the same ring to it). I don't know shit about most popular TV shows and I could never watch more than 30 seconds of Seinfeld. I'll never understand how anyone liked that show.

@BD - I'm actually with you on that one. Seinfeld's ok for a chuckle now and again, but I never understood the craze, really.

Seinfeld sucked and was the most whiney show ever. Damn that show sucked. I mean really?

wasn't saying i liked Seinfeld! just seeing if people follow the festivus thing (i think it's more 'cult')

My university had a "festivus" celebration, and it's even in the Wiki article! It's not a real one though. It used to be called Pig Roast and involved the student body standing outside on the lawn of the fraternity lodges sometime in the spring wearing sundresses and shirts and ties and getting really really drunk in the morning/mid afternoon. There are sometimes also actual pigs roasted. The administration eventually banned the event after my freshman year when accepted students weekend was unfortunatly scheduled on the same day as Pig Roast... but they agreed to let the tradition continue with a few minor restrictions, they renamed it "festivus" in an effort to give it a new image, basically the same thing happens now with slightly more supervision.

oh, and Seinfeld is great!!

Amen to that. I never got why people liked it. But then Sex and the City was like that too. Are all New Yorkers neurotic and whiny ? I thought they were supposed to be tough and streetwise ??

What planet are you all from. Seinfeld was hillarious. O.k. I admit they could have stopped after the seventh season, but oh well. Kramer adopting the highway and repainting "wider" lines...I peed my pants.

Yes...Us New Yorkers are a bit neurotic (I challenge you to ever meet a New Yorker who has not done therapy), but hell that is what makes us interesting.

As for festivus, ahhh no...its a T.V. show holiday.
