Non-German get-togethers

Let's meet up and moan

I'm new to Toytown so sorry if I'm a bit ignorant..Is there a place, pub, whatever where you guys and gals meet up every now and again? Cos how else are we supposed to get to know each other and make freinds etc? Good question: I don't mean the German-English association thing where Germs go to get cheap English lessons and we end up acquiring their mistakes. No, something strictly English or American it must be! So come on, let me in!

Just do what most of us computer nerds do, spend all day on the website getting to know each other that way.

Otherwise if you really have to meet people, check out the Events TT Meetups and Going Out subforums. Two popular ones are TT Tuesday drinks, and Wednesday curry nights.

Theres also a Christmas Party on saturday. Everyone will be there.

Toytown Tuesday for the next 2 weeks might be a good start. Murphy's next Tuesday, The Arc the week after

And if you really want to do what the sub-title of this thread implies. Fill out the poll.

Edit: Deleted 'cause I'm stupid, but I did get a good laugh out of my stupidity due to the relatively long-winded reply I typed and then removed.

This post is a bit like someone walking into a bakery and asking if they sell bread.

Welcome along Irish woman. Follow the advice given by others above and you'll be grand.

laugh.gif I was pleasantly surprised by the nice responses actually. Many a newbie has been savaged and cut to ribbons for such a posting (or less)

Moo.

No, I wrote, "And of course the TT Christmas Party on Saturday night. I think there's room for one more person." which I thought was a fairly pleasant and helpful response. Butterbean then wrote "friends". I thought she was picking up on the fact that I am normally a complete prick (allegedly) to new people and that I was just being nice here because the person in question was Irish, hence the highlighted 'ie'. I thought it was quite clever and cheeky. Anyway, I wrote a big long reply about the season of goodwill and how I'm trying to be nice and an example of the usual kind of response I would have given. I posted it, glanced at the original post again and noticed that Irishwoman had spelt 'friends' incorrectly so decided that my post was somewhat out of place. Phew, glad I got that off my chest.

You are so petty. I didn't reread my posting since I am so impulsive and not worried about tiny mistakes. thanks for your tips etc. I am in no way offended byanything you might write since I forgive your not knowing how great I am and what you're missing...harhar. Now I know what TT stands for - hooray!
