Hey
I have been looking for an

And can anyone recommend it or another hairdressers. I need someone who can speak english, because I want quite a drastic change.

Badger was there about a fortnight ago.
Toni & Guy,
Frauenstr. 44, Tel. 089/294898
Maximiliansplatz 12b, Tel. 089/228025
I made the appointment and asked about a particular hairdresser. I was politely informed that she would have a stylist and a technician. None of this hairdresser nonsense for them. I can't say about the individual employees but certainly the person I spoke to on the phone spoke excellent English so at least you'd have a point of contact to explain things to.

Toni & Guy is in the Rieger-City complex. Use the S-Bahn exit which directs you to Tal, when you're at the surface look left and you'll see the street entrance across the road.
There is probably a nearer S-Bahn exit but I know you can actually see the salon from this one.

another quick question... how much does it usually cost for just a cut...?? Just before I phone and book the appointment.
Keydeck
Dec 8 2005, 10:54 am
They'll do a basic wash & blow-dry for about €15 and a cut n' style for about €30. Of course it's probably better that you just ring and ask as the different stylists have different rates depending on their ranking within the salon.

well, i have already posted.
hairkiller at
Pocci Strasse no. 2 charge less than half of 45 Euros which in my opinion is outrageous.
The guy at hairkiller (dont let the name put you off) name is Sebbi who is a very hip kind of guy and speaks English.
so there you go..
I am not posting this again!!!

That may well be the case, but she didn't ask for suggestions of places to go. She asked specifically for information on Toni & Guy.
Unfortunatly, 45 is the going rate in Munich at almost any salon.

Glasgow Girl (from another Glasgow Girl) Julia is very good ... €45 for a cut and blowdry ... She speaks good English too and will be looking for hints on visiting God's Country as she's going to Scotland on holiday next year !! Enjoy !!

Come on, does anyone get what they ask for.
The closest I got to satisfaction was when they shaved it all off.

Drastic change it may be...i got half my hair chopped off without asking for it, and it wasn't even one of those cool a-symetric haircuts. certainly a drastic change

i hated Tony and Guy...but i don't remember who the girl was, so it doesn't mean you'll have a bad outcome just 'cause i did. i haaated it, she was so mean, did not let me get a word in, basically told me to be quiet...charged me 50. it took me about 6 months to grow certain layers out, so i could get a new trim...which i did at pony club last week...(i think i already said this before on the other thread, actually there was a ton said on there about T&G)

What were the results then glasgowgir?
I went and booked a appointment last night, getting charged 33EUR to get my mop chopped not too expensive I have to say, asked about getting highlights and the woman said a max of 65 EUR, which is reasonable again.
I have got a girl named Marina or something like that not sure if anyone else has had experience of her...

Yeah, I'd like to know a bit about this place too...
I like my current hair dresser, but it's never exactly what I want...it's always way to conservative for me.

Having been to both "Tony & Guy" and "Vidal Sassoon", I can only say there's huge difference in how you're going to look when you walk out of the salon.
If you want a timeless, sleek-classic look, try "Vidal Sassoon". Tres-chic and very modern!
If you're looking for something a little funkier, on the edge (big hair girls), try "Tony". Although, what I didn't like about Tony was that the stylists seem to cut against the hair's normal growth pattern, making blow-drying/straightening a must, plus "grow-outs" are a @%&!!
Both charge the same prices ... around €45 (for a junior stylist cut).

Marina is my girl!
I have only spoken with her in German, so I have no idea if she can speak English.
I explained to her what I wanted and even brought a few magazine pics in to help me explain it better. And she cut it exactly how I wanted it to be cut.
I think she's great.
Have fun!

Well I assume she speaks english cos I told the receptionist that I wanted a english speaker.
I aint got a clue what to get done so I might just let her go wild on it. Might have to do some research on hair stlyes

I used to have my hair cut and coloured at Toni and Guy.
The girl that cut my hair told me that all training for staff in the Munich Toni and Guy takes place in one of the London salons (think it was Kings Road)

the result was pretty good. Got a girl called Julia, who speaks perfect english. She did exactly what I asked for. Went home at christmas and everyone went on about how nice my hair cut was.
Even my mums friend(who is my usual hairdresser at home) said it was a good cut, and she is usually very critical
Hope the cut goes well skoolboyerror.
Have to say I was very satisfied, she gave me a total change, but cut it in the way that I could go home and style it myself

Thanks glasgowgirl!
Anything will be better than the other places I have been over here so far!
I want a total change as well, but when I asked about getting my hair highlighted, they all took a step back, the woman said my hair colour was naturally lovely
Will write a review of my experience on Friday.

I have my hair cut wih Tan Min at Videl Sasson...and it is the best cut I have ever had. Grows out well too. My hair is very fine, and so I have had some shit cuts.
Went to Toni & Guy on Maximillion Strasse for some highlights last week. First time there, and I saw Dieter. My highlights are great. Exactly what I wanted. No orange or stripped look.
Neither are cheap, but they do a great job.

Right went here last night to get my mop chopped. In total the bill came to 61EUR. But was worth it I would say.
Their level of service is top quality and they really do know what they are doing. Most of them speak a little English and a few are pretty much fluent.
I had a girl named Marina last night, if you want someone who knows about style and making you look your best try and get her. I had no idea what to get done and she suggested a few ideas to me and we went for it (and she's hot

)
I had 4 hair washes, a cut and style, colour and she even did my eye brows for some reason :S and in total got 'treated' by 4 different people in there, it took 1.5 hours for the whole cut and I am extremely pleased.
Highly reccomend the place if your willing to splash the cash.
