Apparently, Virgin Galactic, a sister company of Virgin Atlantic, plans to start space flights in 2008. And two million air miles can get you a ride.

See space.com: Frequent flyer miles good for space travel

QUOTE (space.com)
Frequent flyer miles will for the first time be good beyond this planet, based on a new offering from Virgin Atlantic airways and its space-related sister company Virgin Galactic. [...]

Virgin Galactic commercial flights are expected to cost $200,000 initially but the company expect prices to fall over time.

OK, so I've been trying to think of something deep and meaningful for my 1,000th post and failed miserably. But I did find this which put a smile on my face.

Sky News: Virgin bans boob jobs

Seems their experts are worried that surgically enhanced boobies could well explode due to reduced cabin pressure.

QUOTE (Sky news)
Spokesman Will Whitehorn said " There may well be issues with breast augmentation. Wer'e not sure if they could stand the trip, they could well explode ".

Now it says Victoria Principal is gonna be one of the passengers and she always looked like a boobjob girl to me? No chance for Pammy then I guess?

Thing is if you are one of the guys who has had the willie augmentation does that mean your knob might blow up too?

They helpfully included a pic of Jordan to show us what they mean.

Myth busted! (for now)

QUOTE (Source unknown)
Myth: At high altitude breast implants will explode.

In past experiments Jamie and Adam found no change in the implants at high altitude. Viewers said what about inflatable bras? A new altitude chamber was built. Two different types of bras were tested; one with air filled pockets and one with gel filled. Both bras expanded but didn't rupture. They found that even at twice the normal altitude that a airliner could fly, the bras would not explode.

Final result: Busted again

I know of at least one TT'er who has over two million air miles. I don't think they're with Virgin though, so no chance of a "TT'er in space" in the immediate future. It won't be long though. Virgin Galactic's promises about commercial space travel are looking ever more realistic.

See the new promotional video that is currently showing on their website: Virgin Galactic

It's about seven minutes long and is pretty fun to watch.
