Our team learned a lot by that defeat at Oregon State (an away game). If a defeat every 30 or so games is healthy, then you have to accept the huge turnaround that the Trojans made as a result of that game. Their team had been that even being far behind didn't mean they were going to lose, but lose they did. By 2 points on a failed 2-point conversion play (and who knows what would have happened in overtime, but that's beyond the point).
Yet USC did lose right?

I am just trying to get all the facts no offense. Now so USC did lose and Ohio State has yet to lose. OKay now I have the up to date scenario here. Anyways cheers.
On another point I do believe if you are in Munich during this heightened USC/Notre Dame game I feel you should not be able to watch it. Do not miss understand me. From what I understand you would be here for a job interview correct? So if you are not able to see the game then you will understand what we go through every year. Then you will have a real feel of lfe in Munich. That way when you go back to the states ,after the interveiw, you will have a more accurate comparison. When you get the job offer and I think you will I do hope you accept it. I like you justula your funny and we need more peeps like you.
PS
watch out for the one that goes by JML. Things aren't right with that one

BCS yes, but the other is the sportswriters who have a thing for certain teams not in the south and always have. That is one of the reasons why the BCS was implemented. A team that loses usually drops three to five places in the polls at a minimum.
The coaches poll is really a scam too because they don't really get to see the games and often times they vote without really knowing anything more than the scores. Some coaches refuse to vote just for that reason, but others think they know better even without seeing the games.

Inasmuch as Michigan is done for the year (no games remaining) and USC has two games left - one against highly ranked but overrated Notre Dame, the other being a rival without too much hope game against UCLA, the Trojans can easily overcome the .75 thousandths difference between their BCS "average" and Michigan's. In fact, beating Notre Dame should do it without help from the Bruin's game.

So we have a bunch of teams with one loss and the top-ranked team of that lot just lost to the #1 team in the country. Sounds right to me. I've never subscribed to the theory that a late-season loss against a good opponent should could for more than an early-season loss against a lesser opponent. Good to see they finally got it right. Now if USC can win their next two games, I think you will see them move into the #2 spot.

Oh, so when Tennessee lost to Arkansas, they shouldn't have dropped from #13 to #22, but stayed at #13 because Tn lost to a higher ranked team.
Your logic would be sound if things actually worked that way. Sportswriters have forever dissed the south and gave overrated importance to their sweetheart teams. That is why there has been controversy in who is #1 in the past.

You and I would appear to be the only ones in all of Munich interested at watching an American college football classic at The Arc, where coverage has been offered, conditioned on our having enough fellow patrons to cover The Arc's costs - a most generous offer, I must say!

2 AM Sunday morning (Nov. 26th). Turns out there is a
cricket match that can last for up to five days, depending on how the match goes. Of course, some side could win early on, and stop the proceedings entirely.
We need 10-15 fans for either ND or USC, or even those who are not fans but curious enough to lose sleep, to attend and swill away on the suds in order to cover expenses.
So I guess we can leave it like this: if you don't see any message here that the showing of the game will not take place, then come on in.

Looks like another year will go by in which a true national champion will not be determined unless Ohio State remains undefeated. The sad thing is that the bowls have so much money tied into them that the NCAA will not give in to play-off format. Sad really.
eurovol
Dec 2 2006, 9:11 pm
The top four will have a playoff. The problem is that people won't spend the money to go to both a major bowl and the final final championship game. More likely is that the top four will have a play-in to the major championship bowl game. Right now, the top four could play next weekend to determine the bowl lineup for 1 against 2 and 3 against 4.

Can it, SEC-boy.

Why Michigan? Because their only loss was to the #1 team in the country. Can any other team make that claim?
OK, honestly, I think Florida should get the nod based on strength of schedule. However, they are from the SEC so I can't actually advocate that they get a chance. I'm going to lobby for the undefeated Boise State Broncos!!
