I am a Canadian business owner interested in opening my own business in Europe, I am choosing between Germany and the Netherlands. Could anyone say which country is better for a non-EU national interested in opening a business? I contacted the IND in the Netherlands, which told me that it is possible for non EU nationals to open businesses there. I have been looking for information on Germany but have not found much information. Any one have any experiences here in Germany?

It is possible for Non-EU citizens to open a business in Germany, depending (among other things) on the amount to be invested. Here's a link to the website of "Invest in Bavaria" (sponsored by the Bavarian government), maybe they can give you more detailed information:
http://www.invest-in-bavaria.de/As for what's better, the Netherlands or Germany - you're not exactly giving a lot of info on the details of your business, so I guess nobody will be able to tell you, since it depends on so many things.

The one obvious advantage for the Netherlands is Language. Everybody can speak English in The Netherlands, which isn't the case in Germany.

no one is better with our language knowledge. You should stay in any country for a while to understand. dont be blind

If you were replying to the OP, you might wish to know that (aside from the fact that this thread is three years old), if memory serves, somewhere along the way he/she turned out to be a troll.

Wow!

I just looked into ICs profile and his posts. Two decent posts asking for information (one in 2005, the next in 2007) and then he spiralled into insults, racism and bland stupidity. It speaks for TT, that he only lasted for two months (April and May 2007), before he was discouraged to continue posting.

@Kay, you're too nice - Neusser's post is sort of a brain fart.
