I have a nephew that was born last April and I am looking for nice gifts for Christmas. I have already bought the whole line from Petit Bateau, and all the cool gifts seem to be for children over three. So what do you recommend for an infant except for stuffed toys and clothes?

Definitely rattles and chew toys would be a good bet. Last year was my niece's first Christmas. I figured everyone else would be getting the toys and clothes, so I bought her a personalized pewter stocking holder from Lands' End:

Ask the parents what they need for him since babies seem to need a lot of things. You can also get him something small, like a rattle or something to chew on, or something collectible that you know his parents will appreciate and keep for him. If your sister does a big deal with the tree every year, consider something like a christmas ornament - something either unique from here or personalized for him. My sister and neice decorate the tree, she's going on 4 now and knows/tells you all the little stories about her ornaments. Who gave them to her, where they came from, all the details that my sister tells her when they do the tree. Oh and a t-shirt that says L-town proppah.

A hoodie towel with his name embroidered on it.
I personally buy my niece and nefew every year an ornament for the christmas tree, I write in the bottom their names, the year and the place I bought it.
Head down to Marienpl and get a nice pewter ornament, for their first christmas, they may not appreciate now, but when they are older they will have a nice collection of stuff from their special relative... that was not always there for the holiday.
babies at 6 months are happy with the wrapping paper, so splurge and get a massage/spa gift certificate for mom and or dad- your thoughtfulness will be talked about for years and the destressing will help provide all that "qualilty" time babies really need.

There's nothing like Stroh 80 to help numb those teething pains. ;-)
What eurovol said:
According to Denis Leary, you will be beloved by the child (and hated by the parents) if you get him a life-sized Darth Vader bank. Every time you put in a coin it starts talking like Vader and saying "Hoooh... haaah... use the Force Luke!" until it breaks and starts going off randomly in the middle of the night.

Hi - I have a 7-month-old boy and what he enjoys the most is anything he can grab and make noise with. I agree with those who say wrapping paper, etc. However, last weekend I bought him a rattle at the Starnberg Xmas market which he loves !!! It will also be a nice momentum for us parents.
I also like when friends and family think ahead of time with regards to presents for my son, e.g. pijamas for 9-12 months, a pair of soft shoes (he will need them in few months), soft books which may even include different textures, little toys for the bath...
Good luck !!

Ask the parents. The kid is too small to appreciate anything really, so ask them what will make them and the child happy. I just got a hat and matching mittens for my little niece, so she had something girly to go with her boyish hand-me-downs from her big brother.
