Buying a new car from a 3rd party

Alleged 9% to 29.5% off of new cars

While doing some searching for local car dealers I came across these guys. Basically they say just go to a given manufacturer's website, configure a new car exactly as you'd like it and send them the info. They buy the car for you and deliver it in 2-3 months at a significant savings; they quoted me 14% off MSPR on a Volvo T5 AWD and 12.5% off of any VW or Audi.

I have no idea about financing and such but on the surface it seems like a good deal. I'm weary, however, as no such 3rd party buyer thing exists back home as far as I know and I'm completely ignorant of how it really works (save for the little info on their website).

Has anybody bought a car from a company like this?

You have to be careful as some do a reimport as they call it. If you negotiate well at the dealer you can get the same discounts. 14 and 12 %. Make sure the specs are completely the same. For example, I know someone bought a Ford Focus back than and found out the car had no discbrakes but the older ones and was orignaly meant some East European republic.

If you need a reliable Audi dealer I can get you some details.

Good luck.

nope. I got mine directly from BMW with a discount and within a week as it was one they had in stock of ones that people had changed their mind about. A guy at work (German) did too after he heard about my deal. Both cars are perfectly new, fine, etc. If you're interested in a VW, you might also want to see if they have a similar program. Have you checked on the warranty too?

Thanks Just G. I'll take you up on that Audi dealer offer.

The place in my link claims only German-spec cars - no imports. It is good to know that some companies sell non-DE spec stuff here.

I bought my car through these guys: http://www.juetten-koolen.de/ and it was a german series car (no reimport) and got about 13.5% on an Audi A3. Picked up the car straight from the factory. Would I do it again? Without a doubt.

This maybe a growing trend. My auto mechanic told me just last week that if ever I was in the market for a new car to just let him know and he could get it for me at a significant discount. I think maybe he had something like this in mind.
