Is it a good idea to visit the Black Forest in Winter?Or is it worth only in Summer?Please suggest

The Black Forest is high in altitude and so it tends to receive a lot of snow. So you probably won't be able to do much hiking. But if you're into cross-country skiing then this is a good place to go. The towns will be less touristy, which is also a major advantage. I wouldn't not go in winter, if that makes sense.

For a small second there, I thought you meant the Black Forest in Bournemouth, but you mean the Schwarzwald.

Ah... sleeping today ! That's the one. Just goes to show you how often I visit my parents ! For some strange reason, just got it into my head that it was the black forest !

I can't give you the names of any specific towns, but I've heard from the Natives that going to the Black Forest during the last bit of Fasching is fun. They have different traditions from Munich - people dressed as stock characters, wearing intricately carved wooden masks, going around entertaining the populace.

I've been in a town there called Elzach a couple of times for Fasching. Tis top quality fun!
