It's that time of the year again... any recommendations for where to get downhill skis tuned up in the schwabing/maxvorstadt area?

For the last 3 years I've had mine sharpened/waxed at SportSchuster near Marienplatz. They usually have a cheap preseason deal and I've had no problems so far. It's not Maxvorstadt but it's close...

I went to "Muskelkater" last year, they also had pre-season specials. They are at the corner of Herzogstrasse/Belgradstrasse, not far from Schwabinger Wassermann. Give them a call first, because the shop either changed owners already or it is about to change owners.

Seeing as Sport Schuster is being torn down - see pootle thread - you might want to go somewhere else. Sport Scheck for example is just up the road.

I have had mine done for the last three years at Bittl - whoever does it there does a great job. I used to have my racing skis tuned before each race by hand (those were the days) and have also done it by myself - but that is time consuming and messy and if you don't know what you're doing, you can really mess up the edges on your skis.

So, yeah, Bittl is good.
