Hello! I have always wanted to learn to play tennis. In Boston I was always surrounded by the public tennis courts but had no time to learn, and now I have time but there seem to be no public courts. Can anyone give me tips about starting to learn play tennis as an adult in Munich? Clubs, costs, anything? Maybe someone plays already and could give me lessons (as long as reasonably priced). I am a beginner but held a racket a couple of times and learn very fast (I am not bragging). Thanks!

TennisIt's a start as there are a number of discussions in there including one on places to play in winter and other TT members interested.

got a general question here since I am a beginner on clay courts: if it has been raining all day, can i still play on a clay court? it just stopped drizzling and I've reserved a court for tonight. I'm wondering if the court will be playable.
thx.

It rained the last couple of days, but today the sun is shining and the court should be just lovely tonight, only badly managed and prepared courts should be out of that bit of rain.

I'm in the Heidelberg area and it's been crappy all day. We got a wee bit of sun this morning, at like 9 a.m. Drizzle has stopped.

Should be fine though, it really needs to rain cats and dogs or a crap pre-season preparation of the courts to make 'em unplayable.

Does anyone know of a good place that offers classes? I played tennis for like a year and that was 7 years ago...so I'd need beginners classes..I'm really keen on picking up tennis again but can't seem to find a place here in Munich thats as central as possible and offers classes for a decent price? Any advice much appreciated! thanx!

Hi ALL ,
for tennis beginner courses I would recommend a trainer in
olympiapark tennis studium .
I trained there for 6 months .
Tennisschule -- Christos Theodosiadis -- Tel.: 089/35 00 41 14 oder 0172/91 38 96 5
He usually teaches in group and charges around 30 euro per hour .
It is equally shared among the number of people playing .
The attendance is also flexiable.
whenever you cannot make it to attend just u can inform him as u r not coming .
