Hi folks,

I want to borrow a fair bit of dosh and I am looking for any banks that are friendly to freelancers. I tried Dresdner, Royal Bank of Scottland and BMW Bank. The all classify me as an Existenzgründer here in Germany.

Any pointers/good experiences would be good.

Hi Just G,

I have been freelancing for 8 months as an IT contractor (Java programmer). My company (Siemens) just signed a one year contract to continue my last contact so I am fairly certain I have a reasonably good income up to Sept. 06. I can provide securtity on about 60% of the loan based on a fund that matures in April 2007 and cash.

That help?

John

p.s. I have two choices. Use the cash to reduce the amount I need to borrow or stash it in a bluechip fund and make sure I can make payments if the worst were to come to the worst. I would prefer the second option but it depends on how much I can borrow.

a 3rd option would be to not buy the flash car I guess wink.gif

Its not just a vanity thing. I'm guessing from your handle you are a fellow Paddy. Check out the difference VRT makes to the price of a high-end car in Germany and Ireland and propose a cheaper way of driving any car at all!
