Just as I thought - it's a regional difference:

but if the bar / restaurant only has coke, get it with a slice of lime - the combo becomes a close approximation of Pepsi

and as NOFXMike mentioned, Coca Cola is one of the best cleaning fluids available. I hear it can even dissolve raw flesh. why oh why would you drink such a thing?

What makes you think that Pepsi is any different?

Actually I am trying to kick my coke habit as I used to be on 2-3l a day. Now its 0.5 - 1l a week so I am happy

Pepsi tastes like blood and rust. Which is fine if you're into that sort of thing. I'm a diet brown addict, I prefer diet coke but will drink diet pepsi, diet rootbeer, whatever as long as its diet and brown. I can't stand the taste of most regular colas. All I have is lemon water right now, I think I might be melting on the inside.

coke here tastes a lot sweeter than the stuff in the states, soI drink the diet stuff..and diet pepsi is just nasty. O and that diet lime coke is goood..just can't find it here.

You should go to the Maldives or Japan! Fanta and coke is so sweet there it's disgusting!

I find it better in Germany in comparison to the UK though.
