Which do you prefer. Coca Cola was invented in 1886 and Pepsi more than a decade later in 1898. Coke clearly has a larger market share than Pepsi, but both drinks are the most popular soft drinks around the globe. Coke products are served more than 705 million times per day in 195 countries around the world and is therefore recognized by 94% of the world's population. Pepsi is far behind that. But both are good in their own right. But which tastes better. What do you guys drink, Pepsi or Coke (if you drink softdrinks, that is).
interplanetjanet
Root beer.
HollyGolightly
ahh I dont like root beer...I used to drink a ton of Dr. Pepper and whenever you go somewhere in the states and ask for dr. pepper and they dont have it they always ask if you want root beer instead...

root beer and dr. pepper tast nothing alike...I hate root beer
interplanetjanet
That's funny. I always had the opposite experience.

me: Do you have root beer?
waitress: No, but we have Dr. Pepper. Would you like that?
me: Ew. No, bring me some water.

Edit: Btw, I had a dentist named Dr. Pepper.
HollyGolightly
Seriously...they taste nothing alike... dry.gif

ohhh he would have been my favorite biggrin.gif
Darkknight

PS: Dr. Pepper is a Coke Product.. As is Fanta,Sprite,Barq's and over 200 others...

So I guess I support the Coke people then dont I...I like diet coke better than diet pepsi...but regualr pepsi better than regular coke... blink.gif

and NOTHING with a lemon or lime twist added in...thats just being lazy...and it doesnt taste the same...but that vanilla coke they had out was actually quite good but a little sweet...

hockeywidow

Darkknight
Perhaps somebody can turn this into a poll...
Grinner
Good call,

But dont forget to add the " I use Coke to clean all my Horse Brasses" option. rolleyes.gif
Timmeh
Coke fer sure, altho Dr. Pepper is definitely better. Lemon & Paeroa trumps them all
greenlakechris
And what do you all call the fizzy stuff?

1. Pop
2. Soda
3. Kola
Daisy
If I have to choose between just the two, then:
Pepsi from a bottle or can.
Coke from a soda fountain.

But I always prefer Diet Dr. Pepper to both.
tom_a
Is there nobody who prefers Afri Cola...? unsure.gif
Friday
Is root beer available in the Walmarts over here? Or anywhere else? I love the stuff and reading about it gives me the craving for it.

@ Vishalarora

You forgot to mention Vanilla Coke and Cherry Coke as possibilites.
ajohnson
Coke (but only from a glass bottle; otherwise, give me regular tap water with lots of ice).
zimmer
I always liked Pepsi, AND with ICE cubes please. Used to drink this every morning (like to wake up).

I believe Pepsi is BIGGER in Asia, at least in Singapore. It's EVERYWHERE!

Coke from a soda fountain.

Soda fountains vary from place to place, don't they?
Kza

More importantly which do you prefer Flötzinger Helles or Auer Helles

PS: Dr. Pepper is a Coke Product.

Actually, that's not really true: http://www.dpsu.com/faqs.html

I would vote for Coke over Pepsi anyday, any form. Do enjoy Dr. Pepper as well though. I was so surprised to find it is possible to get it in Munich.
don_riina
If you mix beer, coke, amaretto and cherry brandy, you get an alcoholic drinky that tastes like Dr Pepper. Its not as good mixing port with WKD Blue for a cheeky vimto, but its good.
Jimbo
I also understand that Gin goes quite well with Tonic - never tried it though as I've always presumed it was an American invention.
NOFXmike
Pepsi, unless I need to clean a battery or smoking device for someone...then coke would be the choice.
Darkknight
@winglette
It maybe true, but they rely on coke's distribution network to get there product to the stores and DPSU AFAIK only sells to coke (Under License)

Then there's this
QUOTE
Q: Does DPSU own its brands outside the U.S.?
A: DPSU's parent company, Cadbury Schweppes plc, sold international ownership of the soft drink brands to the Coca-Cola Company in 1999, with the exception of Western Europe, Australia and North America
mere
definately coke
brokenm
But coke makes exclusively Mr. Pibb..a Dr. Pepper competitor. And I recall that Dr. Pepper originated in Waco, Texas.
Jules Winnfield

Darkknight
Ah.. Made in Waco by Wack'os biggrin.gif

Oh never mind the FBI/ATF took are of that...

I remember seeing an energy drink in the Czech Republic called "Erecta" or something like that. The can was yellow and had a picture of a stick man with an erection on it. Has anyone else seen it and know the actual name? I'd love to send some to a friend.
Carm
Dr. Pepper is bottled by Pepsi in Canada,

#1- Diet Dr. Pepper
#2. Diet Pepsi only drink diet Coke if its caffein free
#3. Cherry Coke
#4. Canned Coke- something about the taste I like

don't like any coke products from the Fountain- they are never calibrated right! Either too sweet or too watery. But Fountain Pepsi stuff... yummy!

I've seen Root Beer, Dr. Pepper and Mt. Dew at the Shell gas stations here, possibly even cherry coke but I'm not sure about that one.

Funny how Fanta is rootbeer in Canada.

Personal favourite is diet pepsi twist pop.

The worst I ever tasted was this shite in India called Tumbs Up. They had a sprite version as well called citra or something that wasn't half bad. But that Thumbs Up tasted like dirt.
UrbanAngel
I don't know if this something new, but they sell Cherry Coca Cola at Edeka. I noticed the small bottles near the cash till, but I don't know if they sell the larger bottles too.
Eleanor Rigby
No one ever believes this until they try it but if you mix coke and sprite you get something that looks and tastes like ginger ale.
Carm
The Mini Mal by Arabella sells the small bottles of Cherry Coke, and also 1 liter bottles. And the Vanilla coke too. They also have Schweppes Ginger Ale (not Canada dry but its okay).
Jenny L
The Mini-Mal in Ismaning also has cherry coke.

Isn't Coke and Sprite just a Spezi.

I know they often mix it with Fanta instead of lemonade here, but technically it is with Lemonade (beer garden near work mixes it like this)..
UrbanAngel
In Bavaria, a Spezi is coke and Fanta, not lemonade (Sprite).
Sidthespid
It's orange and lemonade!!

It's both!
