Myself included. I will probably get beaten for bringing this up since I am not an Irish lad, but here goes... As is obvious the parade is on sunday which from what I have heard is a huge celebration here in Munich. As I have never celebrated it here, I would rather someone else make the plans but I figured i'd bring it up.
Is anyone interested in making this an event in which we can all meet up somewhere before the parade and then march together to
Kultfabrik and end it either there or one of the Irish bars in Munich? Where do we go before, after, and should we dress up? Keydeck, if you're up to it, I nominate you to be the social chair since as it seems from your pictures you had a wild time.

I'd like to see the parade - sounds like a good excuse for another party.
If found this link: www.stpatricksday.de/index_en.htm
but I'm not quite sure where the parade will be exactly. Does anybody know?

I believe the Parade begins at the Deutsche museum this year and ends in KultFabrik but I could be wrong.

I raised this earlier, but chose the wrong place to put the thread
St. Patrick's Day 2004 - Munich FestivalI'll definitely be doing the parade on Sunday and most likely have a quick shufty around KPO to see if anything is worthwhile and then more than likely head back to Kilian's. That's where we've always gone in previous years and it's been a great time!
See
MunichNights.com - StPatricks for more information.
The parade route and details of events can be found on the official Paddy's day website as shown in Johnny's post.

Sounds like fun fusilli! Love the irish, have sunday off and am missing out on the 4th biggest St. Paddys Day celebration in the US at good old Scranton, so will need to have some fun to tell all my friends back home who will be drinking their green beer in all the bars in Scranton from 8 am onwards on Saturday. Of course, as you know, drinking from 8 am onwards on a Saturday in Scranton is nothing new and unusual!

any suggestions on where we could meet for the parade on sunday?
Keydeck
Mar 10 2004, 1:00 pm
Am planning to be in
JAM at 2pm for a pint before the parade starts. It's just on Rosenheimerstr so everything goes past it. It's as good a place to meet as any.
Parade starts at 3pm so will watch it go past and then join in at some point and continue on down to KPO. Will decide then whether to stay around there or head back to town.
EDIT: Scratch that, they appear to be closed on Sundays.
New plan is to meet in Kilian's for a pint and perhaps a bit of lunch. The grab an S-Bahn from
Marienplatz to
Rosenheimerplatz to watch the parade going by. How's that sound? Kilian's at 12:30-13:00 and then head off at about 14:30.

That sounds like a good plan for me..:Can we get lunch at JAM? Cause I need to fill up before the binge drinking begins..Either that or I'll pick up some McDonald's beforehand but would rather eat a more filling meal..Anyone planning on dressing up at all?
@Becky
Scranton was a fun time. I was there for the parade then off to Kegs and eggs, then to one of the house parties and then sat in the dark with the big blackout at night. I'm sure you remember that? Or maybe it was just on Clay Street. 421 Clay that is..

I've just spoken to Kilian's and it should all be cushtie for Sunday brunch. I provisionally booked space for 10 to 12 people for a bite to eat (doesn't mean that we can't handle more though). If you plan on eating, then definitely be there at the latest 12:30. We've no idea how stuffed the place will be so early as this is the first year that the parade goes the KPO route and so it all depends on what people are planning.
Basically we'll take it as it comes. One way or another, I'll be there at 12:00 and I'll be leaving again at 14:30.
See you there

I am in for the parade and kilians... hope its not too late, and im not too hungover from a crazy saturday night!
@fusilli... i would love to sport my green eyelashes and green 4-leaf clover stickers but they are sadly in the US. I missed the blackout St. Paddys day in Scranton because I was in Scotland studying abroad. Heard it was a great time though and kegs and eggs is always fun (if u dont get kicked out or not let in!)Unfortunately I have yet to attend a full day of legal St. Paddys Day Scranton drinking. Last year I just got back from Flordia for Spring Break at 5 pm and everyone was already passed out!

Maybe next year...

I'll probably just go down there at about 6pm or so and see what's happening. I'll definitely be giving them a ring early in the day to see what the score is and then take it from there. Should be recovered from Sunday by then

Is anyone doing something on Wednesday? Well, I´m sure lots of people will be. If I can get my lazy friends to get up from their sofas, maybe we join you somewhere (kilians??)
Roger, I´m sure YOU´ll be drinking SOMEWHERE - think I saw you on the telly, bý the way; just a quick appearance at
Marienplatz while you were still sober :-))

Des' war ned I...as the used underwear blokes would say.
I'll be down in Kilian's on Wednesday for a looksee from about 6pm. Come one, come all. If you're Irish come into the parlour, There's a welcome there for you, if your name is Timothy or Pat, So long as you come from Ireland, There's a welcome on the mat, If You come from the Mountains of Mourne, Or Killarney's lakes so blue, We'll sing you a song and we'll make a fuss, Whoever you are you are one of us, If you're Irish, this is the place for you...or some such nonsense. Anyways, you don't have to be Irish. As someone said on Sunday, "Well I'm sort of part Irish kinda". That'll do.
See you in Kilian's.
