Once again I am going on another trip to Prague and will book it by tomorrow. I have some friends who are coming in two weeks and they insist we have to go to Prague. The dates are the 22-24 Leave monday and come back on wednesday. I know this seems strange but i'd rather spend my weekend in munich.
As for car rental, we are looking to rent a high performance vehicle so we can break the sound barrier on the autobahn. (well u get the point) Does anyone know a good rental place where we can find this in Munich and one that will allow us to go to Prague?
Anyway who's in cause I am booking it by tomorrow.

Europcar do fast cars, but under 23 and forget it - you won't be insurable, and the really good stuff (Audi TT, Merc CLKs) you have to be either 25 or 27 for. And in any case, I doubt anybody would be dumb enough to let a group of Americans take one or more high performance cars to Prague - what do you think this is, the Italian Job???

You won't be able to take any nice cars to Czech Republic, especially being under 25 and not business men.

@Fusilli - with Europcar you have to be 25 for all the nice stuff - BMW X3, Audi TT, Merc CLK as I just checked. They didn't have any conditions re: your job, but then if you can affor nearly €500 for 4 days car rental, I guess they assume you're not some student layabout.
My tip is try for a diesel Golf - once you've wound those up they should cruise easily at 115mph. Not exactly breaking the sound barrier, but not exactly going backwards either...
Try Europcar, that was where I got the cheap price from last time...
And they don't let you take Audi, Mercedes, and other similar 'upper class' cars to Prague. Last time I called they told me we would have probably got a VW golf.
Be sure to get a car with unlimited mileage this time!!

The others are right. They rental companies' contracts almost always state very strongly that you're not allowed to travel to Eastern Europe in their cars. It's even to the point where if you even cross the border with their car, it can technically be considered theft.
Having said that, I have a buddy who rented a spiffy BMW 2-seater and drove it to Italy and back even though the contract specifically forbid it...
Do post & let us know whether or not you got it to work. I'm very curious.

Sixt are the cheapest and you can rent some fast cars from them. As for not being able to take the cars into CZ I think you'll find that only applies to BMWs, Benzes and Porsches.
The truely fast cars at rental companies are always the less prestigious brands. The posh brands are generally low spec models- people want a BMW 3 series and dont care if its a 1.6 slowcoach model. However the less prestigious car companies give the rental companies high spec cars so that the renters actually get to try them out.
Last time I was "upgraded" to an Opel Signum- dont laugh- it was good for 220Kms/h (130 Mph), had sat nav, 6 gears, cd, a/c etc etc
