Let's start a pool club or something

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone wanted to play pool on a regular basis, maybe like once a week or something. I am not so good, but this could be fun anyway. We could all decide on a place that serves some good drinks and also has a few tables, but i am not sure where. Any takers?

I am a sort of "post beginner" and can definitely join in weekends.

Well, based on the response, weekends it is. Do you guys know a place that has good tables, good drinks, and possibly even good food? We could eat somewhere else, and just collectively go to the pool place. Since I havent really played pool in the city as much, you pick.

That's what I do best.

I usually play in the Ostbahnhof sports bar. Lots of tables, good beer and service. I don't think they serve food, but Sutlej and Ganesh are closeby.

Ostbanhof is good. Bit expensive , think its 9 euros for a table for an hour..But it is a pool players paradise.

Sorry it's Ganesha. They are Indian restaurants. They are just the two places I know are nearby.

I am up for that, but I hope it would be better than Palaste der Winde!!!

I am game too. But whats wrong with having this on a weekday. Maybe on a Thursday or somethin !

I was expecting that a few people would post different locations (Ostbahnhof is the only good one I know). And friday evening is a weekend !!

Anyway, Vishal can set up a date and let us know. This weekend I will not be able to come, but defo from next weekend onwards.

I always find myself sayin' this to pool players, but the Schelling Salon (on Schellingstr surprisingly) is very good - got a real atmosphere to the place, and it's also central - very, very close to the Arc in fact. Tables used to be €7 an hour - though I've not been in a while (like 18 months). Food is proper Bavarian slop, but very cheap indeed.

You can also play in the Isar Bowling on the Tegernseerlandstr. (nearest U-bahn is Silberhornstr.). The first level down has pool tables and a couple of snooker tables too. No decent food though.

Kaffee Giesing is only round the corner and is cool with live jazz music almost every weeknight I think. Infact now I think about it I believe there are pool tables at the back of the cafe so you could go there and kill 2 birds with one stone.

Hey guys and gals, how about the place that Madgibson has just suggested, maybe we could meet there tonight if nobody has any objections, since a lot of people have probs this weekend, and I dont want to wait till next week to start. I think I have itchy fingers. Lets go!!!

I'm good every night next week, but am very scared to go anywhere in munich cause I just got here 5 days ago, so I would need very good directions!

No matter for me, I already have other plans, but I'd love to join a game at Ostbahnhof some other night.

I thought weekends were better for most.

yea, I have no idea what the plan is. and I can't wait till the discussion turns to WHICH RULES to play by...

Me with Chicago, I have met 10 sets of rules in as many pubs. No time tonight, though.

We could do that next week. I think with toooo many possibilities, it gets harder for everyone to select an appropriate place. Lets meet at the Isar Bowling place tonight, then we could gather a consensus on where to meet next time.
