Eat the Rich and Papagayos in Munich

Went out last night with the intention of having a quiet one. Headed over to Eat The Rich. As usual it was pretty packed with a good assortment of the beautiful people. We had one beer and decided to leave as we didn't have a decent plot and just fancied sitting at a bar somewhere.

Headed across the road to a little place called Papagayos on Schleißheimerstr. I know this location of old. It used to be an African bar called "Cynthia's Island" run by a friend of mine. Business went down the toilet and then it was reopened by someone else as S'cream. Always looked empty and uninviting.

Now it has metamorphosed into an Ecuadorian bar run by a couple of youngish blokes called Richard (touch of the Cuba Gooding Jnr about him) and Santana and various other family members. Apparently Santana's real name is Jesus, but the similarity ends with the name. They've just been open a week now. It's a bit stark inside, in need of some pictures and plants or something to personalise the place a bit. Good South American music and hot Latina girls dancing in the small area in front of the bar. When a gorgeous latina chick apologises to you for rubbing her ass against your knee, you know you're in the right place laugh.gif

20 minutes in the place and we got invited to Santana's sisters wedding in January.

Anyway, a fun, albeit slightly surreal, night was had. I'll definitely pay a visit again on a weekend night and see what's happening.

If you fancy something with an atmosphere very different to your average bar, check it out.

Oh, forgot to mention. Something that struck me was the comparison between "Eat The Rich" and "Papagayos". That was the complete lack of pretension in the latter which is so evident in the former.
