The skinhead and I will be attending. We've never heard any of their songs but they wear black, apparently sing psychotic country and western-inspired dirges and are Scottish so it is a must. Especially at only 12€.
hippo says they sound like Arab Strap (the band, not the thing used to hit schoolkids in the olden days) and that's good enough for me. Plus they play support slots for my beloved Belle & Sebastian.

It is also nothing to do with the Aussie soap of the same name (my mum loved that show).

Damn good.
If The Shadows had taken more speed and The Who had been more into country and had come from Scotland then maybe just maybe this is what it would have sounded like.
Eyeliner, black sequined shorts, boots to the knees. The singer had the looks and the presence and a scottish accent. The drum kit was being well trashed and the guitars relentlessly bashed. The bass player had the slightly damaged cousin Chloe look down pat as well. Throw in a bit of amplified mandolin and the result was a concert that was either too short or just the perfect length.
Did I mention the singer's boots ?

The singer also throw two or three loops of her mike lead around the guitarists neck at some stage.
I'm not sure if their recordings would live up to the live buzz.
I did mention those boots didn't I ?

Fantastic show. I will say that they do sound a bit better live, but their CDs are definitely worth having. Post a picture of a booted Adele Bethel on your wall and you can even get the eye candy while you listen.
Edit: Also interesting to see Mr. hippo cut loose and dance like a maniac.

Hey UpQuark, you noticed the boots as well ? I thought it was a fetish morgana.

If you wondered why she said "they were a gift" halfway through, it was because I asked her where she got the boots. Yes, what a suprise, I was the gobby one at the front, when they said that they were on their last song, I yelled "no you're not, there's two more on that setlist" causing band to giggle.

I need to go shopping.
I've uploaded another boot picture btw.

Listening to their latest right now and really digging it. Knowing what an angry chick their lead singer is makes it sound that much better. Nice to have a proper mental image of a crazily gyrating, heavily made-up, booted gal to accompany the music.

Set list now in gallery too. I got one for hippo as well.

She's not angry, she's just from Glasgow. We're like that on the West Coast.

Was good to hear the scottish accent again.. and I took my german flatmate along with me and she loved it!
They are playing the edinburgh street party at new year.. should be good!
And yeh two of them did play with arab strap.
