Surprised that none of the music lovers have posted this...but then again, it's a bit of a weird music. i don't even know how to describe it either (some critic once said they sound like tripped out billie holdiay..uhmm, yes, i can see that i guess). not dancy, not rock'n'roll, but just very pretty and decadent. they get lumped with devendra banhart and joanna newsom lots (both of whom i love), i guess becuase it's folky and organic in a way. anyways, don't know how much the tickets are but i doubt they will sell out, they're bigger in US for sure.

Do you mean Cocorosie??
I don't know them, but after reading the reviews from spin and pitchfork...I don't know if I want to. It sounds to me most similar to Cocteau Twins.

I was never into the cocteau twins...so don't know. and i also have not heard the latest cocorosie, which i know has been met with mixed reviews. but their first album i like lots and i know it was recieved very well. someone also said they sound like a mix between le tigre/billie holiday...i mean they are a bit strange and not-of-this world. but worth it

Edit: just found cocteau twins, and NO, do not even compare to cocorosie. the twins have this new-age shit sound...uhmm, no. thanks

I'll be there. My husband got the tickets for my birthday! Definitely looking forward to it.

Me & Mr Shallot are going too. I didn't post about it coz I just didn't know how to describe their music either! You want to meet up?
alala
Oops, wish I'd seen that before now. Um yes, would have been great to meet up, but we'd have had a helluva time finding eachother in that crowd. Great show, though.
shallot
Yes - it was a great show. We only just got in though - I had no idea they were so popular here. We got there at 8.45 and it was sold out. We decided just to stick it out and stand in there incase any returns came up. Very luckily an old school mate of my husband's sauntered up at 9.45 and he was on the guest list and got us in!
I'm going to buy tickets in advance from now on.

@ persik - did you ever make it?
