Great place to read a book uninterrupted. Nice surroundings. The service won't interrupt you. Sat there 45 minutes nursing a bier waiting for them to take our dinner order. It never came. They could save lots of money by not printing menus that they don't use. Total crap place servicewise. I would highly recommend it to people that I don't like. This place sux big time. I was on the verge to ask if they knew of a place to eat as we were leaving but I didn't and paid for the bier in as many pieces of change as possible. The big "0" on a scale of 1 to 10.
take care,

I've eaten here a few times and the service was fine. Sorry to hear you had such a bad night. sad.gif

The idea of the place with its Brecht/Weill theme is great, and drinking the Plop-Bier is fun. But it has had a bad reputation for some time as to service. About 5 years ago we ordered the mixed platter of Pflanzln, expressly telling them to leave out anything with fish due to allergies - bang, 3 Fischpflanzl right there on the platter. And they brought the wrong beer to half the people at the table. Seems things haven't changed.

I got to the Museum Lichtspiel too early a few weeks back and went in to have a coffee to pass the time. I sat at the bar and had the Dreigroschen coffee which is absolutely delicious coffee with chocolate liqueur. Highly recommended. I had a friendly chat with the barkeep about their Three Penny Opera show and fended off an overly-friendly patron who - get this - wanted to know my star sign. ohmy.gif
The terrific coffee came quickly enough at the bar, but I can't comment on food as I didn't stop for any.

I don't particularly like the place either. I've had slow service, and the fact that they they charge for tap water (a token fee, but still charged) gets my goat.

Much better to go to Wirtshaus in der Au, a short walk down the street on the other side of Museum Lichtspiel.

I often used to go to that JAM place just bout 100m further towards Gasteig from the Museum Lichtspiel.
Dunno if it's still there, though.
I'm not mad keen on the 3Groschen place, either. They think they're something special, and they're not.

Have been there a few times, service has been pretty slow and others it was pretty good. I want to go back if only for the DreiGroschenplop, which is their own homebrew, fantastic stuff!!
