Moosburg an der Isar

OK, so we've been in our current apartment about 6 months now. Granted the fiance has been here a bit longer than me, but anyway...

He's growing weary of the daily commute to the office which has turned out to be more like an hour than the half hour that the drive is in non-rush hour times. So, he's trying to convince me that we need to move closer to his office. (Note: I travel with my job so rarely am I actually in our office in Munich, thus my location doesn't matter so much as long as I am close to the airport and close to a rail station). His office is near the airport (in Schwaig, I think). Anyway, he has fallen in love with the city of Moosburg and is trying to convince me to move there (the question of renting and buying is still up for discussion). The location will work for both of us, no problem there really. I don't know what it is about the city, but it simply doesn't excite me. I think it may be because I prefer to be on the outskirts with not so many neighbors to stick their noses in my business.

Anyone live in or near Moosburg? Any thoughts/suggestions/comments?

i have heard, now don't quote me on this, that moosburg has one of the biggest drug problems in germany. however, i've been there on a few occasions (live in freising just down the road) and it seems fine to me. has an irish pub equipped with a real darts board, so that's a very good start! is on the mainline for trains and is a fairly major stop. landshut is also nearby and a nice place to shop and live (and is the capital of niederbayern!).

I worked in Süd Chemie in 'Moosburg am isar' for around a year. Yes it used to take me an hour to reach for work but it was on a the RB where I could sit uninterupted and read.

About the town Moosburg, well I didn't find it anything special. It is a small town, with a small marktplatz where you have all the major shops and thats it. Nothing else. I don't think its the best place to live. If I was to work in Moosburg for long I would rather live in Friesing or Landshut which are both pretty close to Moosburg and offer much more.
