I was mugged on the Munich U-Bahn

Yes, even in Toytown!

Last night was great, I had a superb night. Even though the French party was a little weird, the Nachtgalerie was again an old time night until early morning.
It ended up being unlucky on the one hand, but lucky on the other hand. The unlucky part: I had to change ubahns at Implerstrasse to be able to get home, and I sat down there to wait for the right ubahn (which was after all not a good idea). Between the time that I sat down and the time when the ubahn came, the rest of the money in my wallet was taken away by two guys there. Me being utterly drunk I couldn’t defend myself so much and it seemed like I didn’t get so much support from other people who were there (I honestly have no idea about how many people there were, but it can’t be that many on an early Saturday morning). The lucky part: I was lucky because of the fact that I remembered to leave my things like credit cards and bank cards at home that night.
So right now I lost a lot of money which I am really pissed off about, but thank god I don’t have to cancel cards, get new ones, etc.

This town may be called a Toytown, but still, beware...

EDIT: I am so surprised that I still have my phone!!

Your first mass of the evening at HBH is on me sparty!!

Wow and you're not a small guy. I've not heard of that kinda thing. Let's hope it's more the exception than the rule. Hope you're ok Sparty.
randy
Yikes, that sucks sad.gif

Were you on the platform? Perhaps it's on the video tapes?

Sorry to hear that you got jacked last night. Did you consider going to the police? The surveilance cameras are not actively manned, but they do hold onto the footage for a short time...

Was violence/a weapon involved, or was it more a case of them rufflnig through your pockets while you were semi-conscious?

I think it's a shame that there were witneses who didn't help. Aren't they legally required to get involved?

BTW, hope the lucky part of your evening was good enough to somewhat offest the unlucky part...

Sparty: Go to the police. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Go to the police.

That is what they are there for, tracking down thieves and muggers, along with giving tickets to cyclists.

Hell, go to the tabloids as well. If there is surveillance (whew - got the spelling right this time) footage, they might, if the news is slow that day, publish a pic that could help the cause. If that happened it might put some pressure on the police too. In the end, it would be sweet if the guys were caught.

Have you been to the cops?
You poor thing sad.gif

Sorry to ask the question again Erik but...

Have you been to the cops? If not, would you recognise them again? If so, do you really want to go to the cops?

That U-Bahn stop is jinxed.

Someone was murdered there last year by a madman. The man's family place flowers and candles at the top of the escalator on the anniversary of his death.

Sparty, if I hadn't been thrown out of Nachtgalerie at 2:00 and gone home I could have helped you..Sorry, next time. smile.gif
San
Erik, that REALLY suckes!! next time it might than be a better idea to just walk the last station...

thrown out of Nachtgalerie

Fusilli, what have you been up to this time?!

Initially I wasn't allowed to come into the club since I was wearing an Italian soccer jersey. After taking it off the bouncer let me in. I noticed many people with soccer shirts on, so I decided to be a prick and put mine back on. About an hour or two later, that same bouncer saw me and had me thrown out.

Then I spent the next 30 minutes telling him how much of a loser I thought he was until Tif came outside and basically told me to piss off home.

The day after I called the MVV first before I called the police, asking if they have camera's over there. I had a very friendly guy on the phone and he told me there were camera's, but mostly the camera's do not cover the whole station. After telling what happened, he suggested me to go to the police so the police would get back to the MVV eventually, because apparently it is not allowed for MVV employees to look at tapes without authorization from some people high up management at MVV or the police. He also said that I shouldn't do more, because that would be a waste of my time, since the theft "only" contained money, and no credit cards, back cards, id cards or anything like that.

I guess I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong state of conciousness. It was stupid though, that day I received my phonebill so I got some more money out of the cash machine, and the purpose of the night out was not to spend so much money (hence the Nachtgalerie where it's hardly possible to spend more than 20 euro when drinking beer).

Right now I am okay with it. When I look at it on the bright side, it's "just" money they took from me. I rather lose some money than being beaten up and ending up in the hospital or something like that. And last night San and I had to change there again on the way back to the zoo, and when we sat there I realized that we were sitting at the exact same place where it happened. I was only thinking it would have been funny if those guys were there again...

Maybe next Friday, 5:30am, set up a "fake drunk"-scene like Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson did in Money Train, wait for those guys, beat the crap out of 'em and get my 100 euro's back smile.gif
