I woke up to see everything covered in white and it never fails to take my breath!

SNOW!
there was already very wet snow at 1am when i was on my way home.

Purdy! New snow is the nicest thing to wake up to in the morning! Will have to buy me a bottle of gluhwein today and celebrate this properly.

I could name something else nicer to wake up to in the morning though.
But his ego is healthy enough as it is.
A hot cup of tea is also a fine thing to wake up to.
This weather always makes me have that U2 song "The Unforgettable Fire" in my head because of the bit in the video where one of them (The Edge?) is lunking about in deep snow.

Cats' first snow. They were bewildered...

Very nice piccies Genie. Our Greebo was wandering around this morning with a serious "What the fuck!?!" expression on his face.

I will have the same expression on my face when folk "expect" me to go on these roofs...

Yeah, snow!!! Had to move the car on summer tires so the snowplow could get through (no appointment for winter tires!). Bus 12 minutes late, absolutely cool. Why couldn't this have waited til tomorrow? But the webcam at Fieberbrunn looks soooooooooooooooo promising!
@ Genie: Do you have a balcony for the pussies to play on? Put a pile of snow on it and watch them react.

SB, I'd put them on the balcony, but at the moment it's a great big puddle of melted snow. Which means it'll be a great big puddle of melted snow in the living room afterwards.

LOL... mieowsers were too afraid or too cold to go out! I put a pile of snow for them and they wouldn't step out the door...

We will have to differ here. I would probably freak out quite a lot if I woke up tomorrow morning to find your chap roaming about my apartment. I will take your cup of tea, though.

That it so funny, because the first thing that went through my head as i was staring at the snow is how much i want a cat NOW!! and it would be so weirded out over this snow! and the i saw your pics

AJ: Yup, it's very slushy already. It was nice while it lasted.

I think it's just grey striped cats - my black one didn't seem to care.

Yipee! I love the snow. We are out in the sticks and the appointment to change tyres is tomorrow! Was a very exciting uphill drive. Can't wait to go home and play in the garden!!!

Got cats! and they love it - pissed off that we didn´t let them out this morning, but then we know they would want to come in after 15 minutes playing in the snow - paws get cold quickly

exactly..my mum's cats like the snow on the first day for about 10 or 15 minutes then they're straight back in the house to sit by the fire. then they hate it.
this morning I was in a grump scraping the snow off my car then I saw a man walking his puppy, the puppy was bouncing around in the snow, eating it (not the yellow snow mind) and rolling in it...started nattering to the guy, he was saying it's the first time the puppy saw the snow and he's so excited and it's hard to get him to go home again! put me in a good mood again watching the puppy bounder off!

I took the doggie I'm looking after out this morning thinking she would be as excited as me by the snow, and she was but in a different way. Her priority was to poo in it. lovely.

Is it supposed to snow again today? (in the centre of town?)

I propose TT SNOW BRAWL 2005/2006 in English Garten sometime. Haven't had a good snow fight in awhile. My last one was in London, and my mates and i wopped some mp's from the house of parliament (amatures).

This thread makes me glad not to be living in Munich anymore. Whenever I start to feel all misty-eyed, nostalgic and regretful about leaving Munich I just think of how many times I fell on my arse last winter due to the 'evil white shit' (one time I slipped over while crossing the road and almost got hit by a car). Am glad that it snows very rarely in the region where I live now.

It was a lovely morning for me today:)...Snow snow everywhere...but now its raining...so all the snow melted already

I would rent mine out - but don't leave ANYTHING on any countertops, lock the bathroom door or hide the toilet paper and lock the bread away.

anyone want to rent a dog? you can borrow (or rent money is always good) mine! he's great- saw his first snow today- barked at it awhile and then ran around not quite sure of things b/c it all looked diff. then he decided it was fun to eat and roll in and everything- in the end he loved it!

An hour north we got hit hard for one hour with snow. I mean it was heavy, Colorodo Rockies heavy but then at 12:30 sun broke out and no sign of the stuff. In fact it is pretty warm compared to yesterday.

Its snowing quite heavily in Garching right now, It is quite cool. Although I have seen snow every year of my life, seeing it here is just pretty neat.
