I'm doing some proofreading and came across the word "connexion". Used in the normal way as connection. It didn't ring any bells on the spell-check and it is out there in use on the internet, but I'm wondering if anyone here actually spells it that way?

Actually, it should be titled, does anyone write connextion.
I think I've seen it (also when proofreading) spelt that way only in texts to do with IT; since the authors were experts in their field and native English speakers, I assumed they knew what they were doing...
Connexion is the name for Boeings inflight internet access on Lufthansa. Havent seen it in everyday usage.

Afaik, 'connexion' is an old way to write 'connection'. I've seen it scattered around old literature.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=connexion - chiefly British. Doesn't explain its etymology though.

It's how D H Lawrence spells it in Lady Chatterley's Lover. I've never seen it anywhere else.

I'm reading the Penguin History of the World book at the moment - it's not that old and I am finding 'connexion' and 'reflexion' all through it. The first few times I thought these words must have different meanings but then realised it's just an odd spelling trait. No idea where it comes from though.
