okay, maybe I should have given a more detailed introduction to myself, but I am going to Garmisch now as it will be about 20 degress and completely sunny. I introduce myself tonight. If anyone is there, I am on an orange framed hardtail with no brand name. (I buildém myself)

Ciao,

I'm going to head down to Tegernsee tomorrow morning for a breakfast ride followed by lunch at the brewery and some sweet trails in between. If anybody is interested in joining me then pm or get in touch on 01733547236. Can see the Garmisch autobahn being a stau nightmare from hell tomorrow hence I'll stay a little closer to home. Weather's going to change as well...

tegernsee sounds good if the weather is better than rain!

About me,

I am a New Yorker, I have lived in berlin for 5 years and prior to moivng to München 2 years ago.
I am not a downhill rider, I rather like the challenge of going uphill. I like long uphills- I like long rides.
I rode the 24 hour marathon in Olympia Park this summer as well as the marathons in Garmisch and Obberammergau. I ride alot in the alps because I like the feeling of almost having my heart explode!
I like downhill, but only have a hardtail so I avoid big rocks. ( I am building a fully so maybe in the spring I´hit the downhill mania) I basically train all the time, getting ready for next years marathons. I will do at least 6 of them including Garda. My goal is to do the trans-creta. I am 39 years old married with to two kids. I ride about 250-300km week plus I am in the gym...alot. I am an elite-unemployed biologist taking a year off to get my body in top shape before I hit 40!

I don´t care how friggin cold it may get, I just hate riding in the rain.

so ...

I don't think we'll let you ride with us. You sound waaaaay too fast... cool.gif

I'm going to try to calll you very early in the morning, because it's probably too late to call now. Anyway, I want to come with tomorrow, but I will be in awful shape, with around 2 hours of sleep after tons of candy and beer. Anyway, I need to do it to get back in shape, so watch for a call.

Don´t worry, I save my speed for the marathons and races! Seriously.

Tegernsee is out for me for today, but maybe Thursday as it looks to be 17 degrees in Garmisch and 7 in München.

I know many think it is boring, but any of you guys/gals ever train in Olypmia park? I do a 5.5Km route which when repeated gets you a nice cardiovascular workout. It is great for those who want to condition themselves before hitting the big hills down south. It is basically the same run as the 24 hour marathon but with some additions of more uphill. You get some nice, short downhills which allow one to practice small technicall things like steering with your legs, bunny hops, weight shifting, etc... without the pain of doing 75 km/h down a rocky trail in the alps.

I am there a lot and you will see me on an orange hardtail.

Hey Ninjavore, thanks for the wake up call.

Can you make Tegernsee Bahnhof at 10am?

Later,
Bannockburn.

I live just round the corner from the park and have started using the Oly-Berg as a mini-training on my way to work to get my legs back into shape after my knee op. I would be interested in this 5.5K route you do, it might be more interesting than what I do now. If I see an orange hardtail I will stop the rider and hope its you smile.gif

You likely to be out there today at all?
ninjavore
Sadly, I can't make Tegernsee Bahnhof at all. After a net two hours of sleep, I forced myself over to Hauptbahnhof, and made it to the ticket counter ~10 min before the 8.00 am train left. Anyway, it turned out there is bauarbeit that causes them to take a shortened train to Tegernsee, and the Kurzzug does not include the Fahrradswagen. It's okay though, I can just get my workout from bashing my head into the wall out of frustration.
Bannockburn
hey, ninjavore, take it easy. You didn't miss much, we just did a short loop up and around the Neureuthutte. It was wet on top so the weather wasn't really too great for a long tour...
