I did this event last year. If you go from around 3pm until closing each night you can definitely get hammered on all the alcohol goodness. Everything from wine, schnapps, champagne, meats, cheeses, it's all there for taste testing. If you find something you like you can buy directly at the event. It's a good night out and at an even better price (€15). biggrin.gif

Have been twice now, got absolutely plastered last year, great event. Will try go again.
Inflatablewoman
Sounds good to me.

I had a fabulous time at this last year and brought home some great wines. This event receives 13 thumbs up.
DDBug
Definately worth the trip - though I won't be in town for it this year *sniff*

I've heard that this is definitely one of those occasions where the best advice is to spit rather than swallow, though...
Or at least, save the swallowing for the stuff that is extra specially tasty.
Saan
Yes, if you'd still like to have your tastebuds working at the end of the night and not come home with bottles of expensive wine that you don't even like and are not sure why you bought, a bit of spitting is in order. wink.gif
Ulysses
I swallowed everything. I regretted later...that night.

Spitting, swallowing, this thread will have to move to Adult chat this continues.

What about getting a TT group together for the Wine fair ?

oooh I'd be up for that!

Ok, it looks like we might have a decent turnout, so lets go ahead and fix a date.. I'm guessing Saturday the 12th between 13-1500..
Meet-up at the Freimann U-bahn station and go from there..

Sounds good to me DK, but personally the later the better, 15.00 would be good. Have a b'day party the night before and with those friends I dont tend to get home before 7am!

For those on a bit of a tighter budget, and who are interested in getting good wines for a low price, I can recommend the wine tasting put on by the Badishes wine-house in the Ratskeller...Nov. 4th through 6th. Entrance fee is 5 Euros and you get that back if you purchase wine.

My hubby and I have been drinking Baden region wines for the past 6 years and think they can be excellent, and the price is really right ... usually running from 4 to 12 Euros a bottle.

This is a much smaller and more intimate event that the vino show. There are about 15 wineries from that region represented.

Good date night activity. smile.gif

Anyone going for this today? A colleague told me he saw a photo of 50 people standing in front of 100 bottles ==> i.e. too crowded. Is it true?

I'll go if there isn't a crazy crowd fighting for more alcohol...

I'm heading off right now.
