Beavers are being reintroduced to the UK, 500 years after they were hunted to extinction for their fur.

Six European beavers are to be released at Lower Mill Estate near South Cerney, Gloucestershire, and will be the first to roam wild in the UK for centuries.

The six adult rodents were caught in Bavaria in the spring and have spent the last few months in quarantine.

The beaver was hunted to extinction for its fur and the pain-relieving properties of its anal gland secretions.

I can see why they were killed off. Lovely creatures really.

I nominate this for TT topic title of the year.

Shouldn't this be in the oral sex thread?

I'm sure the implications of a title so named are various...

Personally, "beaver" as in the animal wasn't the first image to come to mind blink.gif

Oh really?? What image did come to mind then? Geez I wonder if the original poster was aware of that? Bet he feels embarrased now that you have pointed out that the topic title could be misinterpreted.

Perhaps it was the use of the word "taste"??

I think the sub title is more alarming. How did those poor brits cope until now???

I think Brits get more than enough of it at Oktoberfest time.

Well, well, well. These environmentalists are clearly just mentalists. Beavers are a complete and utter pain in the arse. Force for good? Well, if the definition of good is "something that strips the bark from trees, making them die" then yes, but I doubt the English countrside is particularly in need of such a thing. I see the damage these animals cause every single day. Seems very destructive to me. Also explains why the local authorities have wrapped some tree trunks in chicken wire.
We have beaver in Garching. I could make an obvious gag about how most Garching beaver is turkish, and perhaps then not the definitive European species, but I won't.
Jimbo
Turkish beaver doesn't usually have teeth mind you.
Genie
They do sometimes strip you, and that could make you die.
